^^^That just doesn't look right IMO. Don't know why just looks a bit odd.
Craig. Gotta say I prefer the darker wheels. Although it still wouldn't stop me pinching your car if I knew where you lived ;)
As said looks really neat, them boost pipes make it look almost standard.
If you're still struggling for a downpipe let me know. ClioTurbo have some available ;) Can sort you out a decent ECU as well.
As above you'll not go wrong. Email Admin@clioturbo.co.uk or Andy@clioturbo.co.uk if you want some more information.
There's a few options, low blow being the simplest and most popular with results normally around 225-240hp with a similar amount of torque.
Well have a read of a few turbo build threads and FAQ's and see what you think, I've you don't really know much about 'tuning' then an engine or turbo conversion may be way over your head.
As above and a head transplant on it's own is pretty pointless when you already have a full 172 engine, may as well just fit some megane pistons if you want cheap, or forged if you want good.
A few different ways of doing it. You're still looking at thousands though. If you're trying to tune on the cheap then a 225 engine isn't the way to go.
Good work! You crack on fast! I'd be getting some uprated mounts as well otherwise that actuator bracket will vibrate on the nimbus like a byatch!
What size gasket is it?
Good work Paul! Wish you'd spoken to us about parts first though, could have saved you a few quid.
While the head is off get the heat shield off the back and put some nimbus is, its a right fork on fitting it with the whole engine in.
Keep us updated.
If you want more pull low down you need forced induction. The F4r is designed to be revved, not to give you decent mid range. TBH the standard engine has more than enough power for you to have a lot of fun on twisty roads, not the fastest thing in a stright line but good on b-roads if you keep...
Brilliant day, none of the Clio's were being bullied by anything else.
The opposite to this friggin Nova which was slightly quicker than us in a straight line and a liability in the bends, nearly ran into the back of him half way thru duffis when he jumped on the brakes when we were flay out...
As above, and you get a standalone ECU with the ARG ClioTurbo.co.uk kit. As far as I know you still use the standard ECU with the ED kit. For 5k I'd be wanting high boost and close to 300hp TBH.
Forged rods are sensible as 300hp is at the limit or standard stuff. If you use Wossners with megane head gasket you'll have 8.5:1. With a standard clio gasket you'll have 9.0:1.
I use 5/40 in mine. Unless you're doing track days i don't think an oil cooler is necessary, although it's never gonna harm getting a thermostatic one.
