    front brake pads

Have you ever tried a set of track pads however? :). If the car is a pure track car I'd be looking at DS3000s or Mintex M1155s. The DS1.11 I cannot comment on.

Road tyres that will stand up to a track day?

PS3s are a great tyre for most conditions. I shall report on the Nankang NS-2Rs when I fit them to the Escort. That car is currently on Toyo T1-Ss. However to go against the grain I was never too keen on Toyo R888s. On the road they are a superb tyre. They warm up quickly, grip the road...

Clio pulling to one side on throttle

What brand of poly bushes did he buy? IME not many poly bushes bar SuperFlex and SuperPro actually last or are resistant to ovalling. However, not many people tend to buy these brands due to them costing more and 'someone on ebay is selling a full set of poly bushes for 15 sheets innit'. Does...

    Braided lines

Questionable. With the Goodridge items I would say save the cash. Over the HEL ones yes go with HEL. HEL lines IME have some of the best fittings with spinning ends, not fixed like many out there. Sounds silly but it makes installation so much easier with regards to easy of positioning...

    LiquidYellDan's 182 Thread

I shall be intrigued to see how you get on with them. The T1-Rs IMO are a grippy tyre but not one which lasts long and also a tyre which has soft sidewalls. Those F1s are looking the mutt's nuts it has to be said!

    [Jun 2, 2015] H&W Meet (Worcester)

Damn, I shall have to remove myself from the list! I am going to the Restoration show at the NEC, thus counting me out for this! Maybe next month :).

    Noob with a 172

I was wondering if the front end had been resprayed or if it was down to most of the front end being made out of plastic. The Skoda Fabia splitter is something I suspected as well, seeing how much Renault charge for a stock item. As for the RST? Not a problem :): The interior did look...

    LiquidYellDan's 182 Thread

I have just read this thread from start to finish an I have to say that it is a lovely car that you have :). I shall be intrigued to see how you get on with the NS-2Rs. I have just bough a set myself for the weekend toy. Which compound are they?

Many thanks :). We shall see about the drop. My last two daily drivers both were lowered and I do enjoy having a daily at a normal height, especially with how this thing is handling! We shall see how long the temptation lasts ;).

    Dogbone fitting argh!!

Sorry, I phrased my question incorrectly. I was meant to ask which mount is best for OE levels of engine vibration and noise (I.e close to nothing) whilst providing one with a solidly mounted engine? I can appreciate that the two are conflicting attributes but one has to ask :).

    Negotiating on Price (182)

This. It is amazing how the owners talk up the values of their car and also massively talk them down as well! Personally, I'd leave it and get another car. Why buy a 182 which potentially has more faults on it than other cars due to neglect? Buy one to drive it . A rough example of...

What have you done to your car today ???

The other day I changed the plugs in mine. Previously some guy had fitted Bosch Super 4s, because of course ECP lists them. It is now on NGK Platinum plugs as intended. As you can expect, the Super 4s had seen better days.

    Dogbone fitting argh!!

FWIW how much more noise does the Powerflex mount add in the short and and long term. Failing that, what is the best mount to get for noise and location?

[May 16, 2015] West Midlands Rolling Road Day (Viezu Technologies LTD)

I shall probably come down seeing as it on my doorstep to meet up with fellow owners :). It'll either be in the Clio (I am intrigued to see if the mods have made a difference) or the Escort RST (so as to not guess how much power it is making besides a lot) .

I guess that is it no surprise that I ended up with one of these eventually, with a friend or two mine owning them with them making plenty of sense despite a couple of flaws and pricey(ish) jobs. However, after driving it you do come to love them! My name is Chas, and it is not the first time...
