Was a oulton once and there was a lad with slicks, r888's and 'wets'. He spent all day swapping wheels as the weather kept changing.
Not my idea of fun tbh, just drive the thing
Fit new of everything after each race, have engine rebuilt/blueprinted, test a lot to find all the little tweeks that shave milliseconds off etc. Can still spend a ton of money in a 'cost controlled' series.
My comment wasnt about tintops, just the fact that racing isnt new but people act like...
Funny how there are a lot of people 'interested' in this on here. When there are so many other series to race in, in many different cars. Budget will prob be the same as any other club level series. No such thing as cheap motorsport (circuit racing)
Pretty much as Nick says. we used pf97's in our first season and both suffered with brake locking. The exact same pads in Dan Freemans (much heavier) 182 were mind blowing. We found the EBC yellows very easy to control so gave lots of confidence on the brakes close to other cars. We switched to...
As Tony says EBC have been brilliant for us. Yellows or Blues if your going to drive properly tho. I had a set of 2500's for trackdays and didnt think they were much good. Did exactly the same as the ones in the OP.
sounds about right, not being funny but whats a Y plate 1.2 worth? less than the excess on the majority of track policies I bet.
And £80 to do a £59 Trackday? Lol
Yes full rear coilover on rear and ast top mounts. Ares are best part of 6 years old only had 1 bolt snap and been off many times. Not a massive issue imo
Maybe, im just saying i didnt see any advatage to justify the price over the HC's. DS2500's rate highly on here but not that great imo, again not worth the money over other things
Phase 2 box has a lower final drive than the phase 1, gear ratios are the same. There is no better box (using Stock Renault stuff) for them imo. We looked i to it a lot for the race car and ended up with phase 2 box.
