Cscc tin top/saloon car guys. Coilovers for racing?

I have read pages and pages of posts and just wanted to know what coilovers people racing clios are using.

AST sportline. 1 or 2's

AST 3's are best they sell but AST 2's are more than good enough for clubman racing and both 1, 2's and 3's are one piece coilover iirc.

If you want anything more then your looking at proflex, ohlins, Bilstein (NOT B14's) which are all in the 2.5k upwards bracket.

If you cant move the rear spring location due to regs AST can spec springs and adjusters to suit.

Everyone has opinions and everyone obviously like there cars handling different but I'm finding it difficult to get any definitive answers etc. Obviously fellows racers wouldn't give away any secrets but new to racing clios, come from a classic mini background and they set up so easy lol

What are you finding difficult? You can't get definitive answers? You've just had a bunch of tin top racers all say AST's lol

I'm certainly not going to tell you the spring rates, took 3yrs to get to where we are now.

If I did you would have difficulty driving it anyway.(not meant in a derogatory way either).

Tony do you have full coilovers on the rear? I will get ast.

Top mounts? Pure or ast? I've been told bolts snap and round on the ast but are adjustable for caster/camber. Coming from my mini where I could easily adjust toe/camber and caster to the extreme.

Yes full rear coilover on rear and ast top mounts. Ares are best part of 6 years old only had 1 bolt snap and been off many times. Not a massive issue imo

Ast top mounts. Grease the bolts, they will be fine.

It's a shame they don't come with top mounts like a lot of the kits they do for other cars. Due to there being factory built race clios, its such a smaller world to racing minis. I look forward to development and testing although no idea on spring rates to chose

Coil, did you re enforce beam if takin away support from spring?

Wrote coil rather than cool. Can tell all I'm thinking of is suspension

Got a pure motorsport kit on it, but not necessarily needed.
