Biased, but Mars red ph1! Gorgeous colour and the exclusivity is a real bonus to ownership. Illiad is a lovely colour on the PH2, but is the most common colour v6 in the UK.
Whilst you do see the odd phase one around 7k, it will usually only get you a bit of a dog that has been involved in an accident and or due/overdue a cambelt change. 8-12k is about the going rate these days for a decent phase one.
Phase ones are getting a bit thin on the ground in the UK these...
Jenson Buttons car was a Mars Red phase 1 v6, number #199 registration - HT51 KNG.
Last time i saw it, it had a supercharger fitted and was having a few engine issues. Hopefully it has been sorted out and is still going.
Nah its all totally original. Its just a clean exhaust which makes it visible. I agree, it looks really good! When they get a bit dirty/rusty, the backbox seems to disapear.
Thought id share my photos from yesterday on CS as I hope you will enjoy seeing them.
Thanks to ROAC for their excellent hospitality. Recommend this meet to anyone!
Mostly V6's so have put it down as clio media although a few other Renaults sneak in.
& some old bit...
That car in scotland was over 40k miles and has some history, whilst that was a bargain (advertised for 16k), it was priced keenly to reflect its condition/history.
Best of luck with the sale Debs. This is one very nice v6.
Taking your v6 to SG Motorsport is a right of passage for v6 ownership. Were lucky to have such a knowledgeable and affable specialist considering the low volume of cars
.
You may see a few vees you recognize whilst your there ;-)
Well worth getting the alignment done, can make a world of...
I picked it up from Edinburgh, but the guy did live round that way yeah! He must of had it for about 7-8 years, did you know him/see it around?
Ill let you know when its back from a trip to Scotts and will sort something out!
Haha!!!
I think all the UK Mars had a ph2 tailgate, ive only...
Was just a last minute one, but yes, lets arrange it soon!
Yeah, all phase ones had colour coded pods as standard, was only the phase 2 that had titanium pods.
18 months after selling #0089 (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?388306-Vee-ownership-A-Year-in-the-life) the v6 bug never left me and knew i would be getting another!! I debated about getting a phase 2 v6 this time, but im still drawn to the phase 1's. When i spotted Mars Red #0268...
The factory selected to colour code the side pods on all i.d colour cars. RUK thought that one of the styling features had been lost after seeing one of the Lunar press cars, so decided to have the UK RHD cars from then on with silver side pods regardless of exterior colour.
Alot of the...
Although the phase one prices are getting stronger, i agree this is well overpriced and look like its had a smack in its time. No doubt he will shift it for not far off that though given the other stock.
Condition is the biggest factor in the price of the cars and as the years go on the gap...
No project thread anywhere. Can't see any posts from the previous owner(s) about what was actually done to it. A few v6 owners commented that it was faster than a standard v6. Can see theres a janspeed exhaust on it. Some posts on v6clio.net mention a remap, different injectors, filter etc...
Well chuffed you went for it Ryan, came back to look at the pics on here aswell as v6clio.net!!
Enjoy it mate.
Will be cool to get some local v6 meets organised as theres now a decent number of us in the area. Hopefully we can get some pics of the mars reds together!

This was advertised for £8995 and sold.
Dont see why a similar condition 172 wouldnt do the same in 10 years. Just my prediction. We'll see.
It's good to know people are looking after the mint low mileage phase 1 172s. I like the idea of owning one 5-10 years in the future. True not a good investment, but it is a fun one.
I think the ultra low mileage ones will likely end up on something like 4star classics for 8-9 grand.
Best advise is go and see as many you can and dont buy the first you see! Condition can vary massively.

If budget is tight its better to get a top...
A vote towards iceberg side pods!!
Have seen a couple of other iceberg v6s with titanium side pods and it just looks a little odd as there are two every so slightly different shades of silver on the car. It looks a bit like the side pods have had a bad colour match respray.
Its a lovely car...
sorry, i have to be sad and correct you, i couldnt leave it!!
4 lunar v6s were sold in the UK.
13 were made.
Shauns is the only UK one with the standard (non leather) interior and titanium side pods. The perfect spec!
Ryan, i love your black Ph1! such a cool car!!!
6 acids, don't forget tapias one that was written off and exported to Germany!
Cool photos guys. Some fantastic cars there yesterday! Can see my mars sneaking in to a couple of shots!
