Bit of a delayed reply to this but...
I've noticed the rear left is toe-in. Realistically what difference am I going to notice with this? Is it worth looking @ shims?
Will do exactly that with the camber (up to 2deg) judging from other posts on the subject.
With the toe settings, 10' (or...
Have you bought it mainly for track, or just a road car your going to occasionally take to track? Michelin Ps3s are generally the road tyre of choice (and work perfectly fine on track). If it's more track orientated, potentially look at ad08rs, less likely to get cut up by kerbs and rolling onto...
Similar NCD and time driving as you. 25yo.
Quotes from the normal insurance companies were crazy high last year (1500+).
The four specialists mentioned were in the 650 -750 region.
Weirdly, my previous insurer on my golf (elephant) actually offered to match the 650 quote, despite originally...
With my 182 on track, with the filter behind the headlight (don't know where that will fit on the 197) I get approx. 1-2degrees hotter air intake temp vs. a similar clio running the standard airbox and ITG filter.
(Temps used to be pretty much identical when on the same airbox)
I never had to do it in the end (turned out I had cup packs) but I was looking to get 172 cup shocks on with Eibach Pro-Kit springs.
There were a few threads about it if you search, one being:

The eibach pro-kit /...
In answer to the second part of that - I have a cone filter 'fatty induction kit', my friend has standard airbox. On the rolling road the torque curve (shape) was identical. No loss off mid range torque.
Hi Guys,
After reading a thread about wear on the sidewall from track use, I've been getting similar with my set-up, except with PS3s the rubber blocks start to lift as well. The last set of fronts have had to come off with about 3.5mm left on them due to damaged blocks/sidewalls.
Clio 182...
When I replaced the clutch on my golf, garages tend to charge quite a high price (£600 or so) because it's a long job and they don't really want the work. Mr. clutch / f1 auto centres charged £200.
Whilst I wouldn't give my 182 to them, I had no problems and for a 1.2...
I have a Ph1 in mine. Inlets (and pretty much everything else) carried over from my damaged 182 engine. Same clutch (although I got a new one as the engine was already out = no labour cost).
I didn't do the change myself (Rentech did it) so can't give you specifics. But from my discussions with...
Interesting read, I have a similar problem with mine, except I run PS3s. So when I wear the outside edges I actually end up ripping up the rubber blocks.
I replaced my suspension with all new cup shocks and eibach pro-kit springs and the wear seems to have started again. I wonder if the...
Apps (e.g. torque and racechrono) read the throttle from the OBD II ports as 66%. Don't know why.
On racechrono there's a little checkbox that scales it correctly, don't know if there's a similar option on torque somewhere.
You'll notice the revs on torque also don't fall to zero.
That's what I do. Mobius front and back connected by Mini-usb to a power magic pro in the glove compartment. Power magic pro connected into the fuse box with a permanent live.
I've had mine done - mine was VERY heavy when replaced. It's still a heavy clutch when new (vs modern hydraulic systems) but much lighter than my 118k old one.
Just "interior trim clips".
I got mine for free from a local scrapyard (common across clios of that age). You can get them from Renault but I think you have to buy something like 10 of them (about a tenner from memory). You can get fake ones on ebay.
e.g...
I am by no means knowledgeable about these things. But when I moved to Proline springs I felt the back end was a bit too lively. I upped tyre pressures by a couple of psi and the car seemed to come back alive. (from 32/29 to 34/31)
I now park my car outside my house without feeling the need to peek out the blinds everytime there's engine revving outside, safe in the knowledge that the next time some t**t decides to hit it and drive off I'll have their number plate on camera.
All good!
Lost sanity due to polystyrene squeaking beneath steering wheel cover.
Removed cover.
Cut fingers on the razor blade style brackets beneath the steering wheel cover.
Used a screwdriver to stab the s**t out of polystyrene that was rubbing on said bracket.
Replaced steering wheel cover.
Test...
I went through both Mintex bearings in 18months with 4 track days. Although Mintex have gone back on the car now, they'll probably be replaced by Renault ones next time. Since fitting them I've heard what George has just explained a few times now.
Blackcircles doesn't list the Michelins as having rim protection. (I would say they are correct.) Only tyres I've ever kerbed my wheels with! I have 205's.
The Hankooks definitely had more of an overhang.
As a novice, I run my car as a daily and track it. I have done a number of track days on the same set of Brembo pads plus plenty of road mileage. They're fine for it.
I now run Ds2500s, the main difference? I don't get any fade in the brakes during my sessions, the 'wear limit' is now the...
