Nice idea that! I guess once you've got the power sorted, everything should work as if it was connected via AUX. Your iPhone will connect via bluetooth to whatever the device can handle e.g. Music, Calls, Data Transfer, Printer etc. my guess is that this device will only connect via Music...

I guess the code is the only hurdle you'll have to overcome but this can be entered without a display. If you read the manual you cab use the numbers on the fascia to select the code.

Yeah pretty sure they are as some LEDs on the dials are 0603 and the rest are PLCC-2 or 4.

They are only interchangeable if all fixtures behind the dash and a.c. are added as one uses mechanical linkages to open slots and the climate control uses motors/actuators to open the slots etc. All in all a pretty complex job for a such swap. Possible but time and money consuming :-)

Yeah 3258 PLLC-2. 0603 are half the size of these, I've also used them to change lights on my Xbox pads. If they have the same electrical properties by all means no harm will be done, just hope they don't burn out :-)

Depends on what year/type your oem stereo it'll either be update or tuner list.

Have you checked the pins and connectors for the bulb holder these normally corrode, a new unit should hopefully sort it.

Think you'll be missing the steering wheel squib, as your current one won't have the connectors for cruise control. Think you have everything else.
