Clio 182 cup fitted new front springs now sits high

In your top pic , it doesn't look too dissimilar to the pic I've posted . Your other pics aren't quite as convincing . This is a genuine cup spring from a 182 . Just for your reference . It's exactly 30cm long . Not the best pic I know , but just so you get an idea.

    YozzaSport Exhaust Dealer

I have a Yozza on my 182 and couldn't agree more about the quality , sound etc ........... but the OP wants one for a 172. If it was me , with the 172 and the Powerflow exhaust , I'd just get a centre section with a silencer ( probably the cheapest option ). I had a stealth Powerflow on my old...

    YozzaSport Exhaust Dealer

Yozzasport doesn't exist anymore , hasn't done for quite some time . I know JP Exhausts in Macclesfield made the exhausts for them for the 182 . http://jpexhausts.co.uk/

Cheaper Car insurance best companies? club discounts?

It was just an example of how your postcode can have a big effect on your car insurance. One of the biggest killers if there have been lots of claims, whiplash injuries / fraudulent claims etc for your area.

    Half done

That's what I actually meant to say , but never said it lol . Ebay sellers selling drilled " Brembo discs " are usually machined afterwards according to what I've read @George@RTR_Parts say. Or sometimes they are only Brembo pads and some unknown drilled discs but the advert is made to look like...

    Half done

Are you sure they're Brembo discs ? I'm guessing you bought the discs and pads off ebay ? I'm pretty sure Brembo don't make drilled rear discs for the 1*2's and the fronts don't look like the grooved Max discs or the drilled X-tra discs . Lots of adverts cleverly use the name " Brembo " in the...

    182 jacking points

Put the coping stone under the jack and jack from the sill , then you'll be able to jack up 50mm higher than you would normally with the jack . Put the axle stands under the frame rails not the sills . I'm off to work in min or I'd search for you on here . But if you look for jacking points /...

I put 50mm concrete coping stones underneath my jacks , its a more solid base and gives you an extra 50mm height to start with so you can get the axle stands under the frame rails . Something like this ...

    Alternator Dilemma

I took mine via breakdown recovery truck to a local garage that was recommended by somebody on here. I'd only had all the belts just over 12 months ( 9k miles ) previous so didn't bother with a new belt or tensioner.

I don't suppose you have any form or breakdown recovery ? That's how I got mine to the garage when my alternator packed up.

Viewing - checking for cup suspension

There were 2 options . Option 1 ,Cup suspension ( slightly lower and stiffer ) and anthracite wheels , the 2nd option was the cup rear spoiler and front splitter . Obviously the anthracite wheels could have been added or refurbed at a later date so that's no definitive answer as to whether it...

    Alternator?

I took it to a mechanic I know in a local garage. I think it was about £200 fitted, he supplied the alternator. It was a reconditioned one. Im sure i read somewhere original Renault ones are about £450 is, but don't quote me on that. Prior to it packing up I'd had no problems, the first...

Same symptoms as I had a few weeks ago. Also wipers were slow and washer jet pump was very weak. Original 10 and half year old alternator. Changed it, now it's fine.

Failed MOT - replacement parts help

My old 172 failed on brake imbalance years ago . There were no obvious signs like uneven brake pad wear . I popped the piston out , grease it then put it back in , had it re-tested and it passed . Just be aware though if you do pop out the piston , they're a bugger to get back in .

6 warning lights have come on together

    Cat /Manifold DIY fitting kit

I'm gonna look at getting mine sleeved next year sometime . I wouldn't bother fitting a decat . I had one , it did bugger all. Only increased the noise of my Yozza . I took it off when it was due its MOT then sold it.
