Yes to the D600. Sadly the D800 was way out of my price range. The ISO performance has already blown me away!
I did also try out the 50mm f1.4g. Boy is that lens slow to focus compared to the 1.8g - sticking with that lens for sure!
The focal length is an interesting one. I really thought for my equestrian photography the extra reach would be ideal, but on my latest shoots I have found the 70-300 too long as I have been close to the action and stuck on the 16-85.
I understand the cost, and that it will take a while to get to the holy grail of fixed aperture lenses. I guess I am just wondering if I will notice a difference in IQ with my 'consumer' lenses.
My trouble would be the lenses. I wouldn't be able to jump on the f2.8 lens brigade and would be using the 24-85 'kit', 70-300vr and 50mm f1.8g. I know the latter would be ideal as I find it a little long on crop.
I'm only enquring as have had an exchange offer for a clean sensor D600.
I have been on Talk Photography for a number of years now, and I would say 50% of FF users describe pictures produced from FF 'magical' and on another level from crop sensors.
Out of interest, what is the true benefit of full frame? I understand that at high ISO levels, any FF camera will...
It's a tough call whether to go full frame as the gap between high end crop and low end full frame is quite small. I got the Nikon D7100 but got close to getting a D600, but the only main advantage was improved high iso performance, but couldn't justify the price difference.
I imagine it will...
One day only sales.
You can currently still buy yesterday's sale games but at some point today these will go and be replaced with today's sale games.
Although if you search for them, today's sale games are already discounted.

Witcher 2 looks quite good...
MW3 - didn't realise you could reset your prestige?
I'm truely shocking at the game - spray and pray and run round like a loon.
Only on prestige 3 (I think). Its the green emblem. I friggin hate it and wished I had just stayed on previous prestige and kept all my s**t.
Going to take me ages...
Day 2 sale - not sure when this starts in uk.
Lego Lord Of The Rings
Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes

No, I didn't take any natural light shots.
I actually thought the fake tan lines were going to come out worse as in the flesh, they looked a bit worse!
There was only a small group of people I didn't know there - I can just image how much worse it is at a wedding!
And the added pressure of getting it right at a wedding - this was quite low key so pressure was a little lower.
She is 16 lol.
I know what you mean Dan - I think that was my fault mainly. Having not done this type of shooting before I was not too confident at directing. I'm hoping the more I do, the more confident I can get.
Didnt have any off camera lighting - was all taken with 50mm and SB400 flash...
So apart from a few shots of the wife on holiday etc, I have never done any portraiture work.
Our friend asked me to take a couple of shots of her daughter before she headed off to her prom, as all they had were compacts and camera phones.
Here are a few of the ones I took.
To be honest, for...
A friend has asked if I can take a few prom pics of her daughter.
Hopefully these will be outside in the garden.
Any tips for decent portraits? Never delved in to this area much!
lenses are 50mm, 16-85 and 70-300 and sb400 flash.
Need to get some nice shoulder/face shots and full length...
D600 is 5.5fps with or without grip.
D7100 is 6, and 7 in the strange crop mode.
D800 is only one that goes up with a grip.
The let down on both the D7100 and D600 is the buffer size in RAW, so remember that if you want it for lots of sports in RAW.
I have no doubt that there will be a D600s...
