Hi wayne... 52 reg is up to March 2003.
Cheers for the comments guys... I love that 1st pic too... the lighting really makes it look wide and archy
That is the best pic of it I have...if I have any other ones that look cool I'll pop them up....but i knew a few peeps would like...
He was a trader.... he had it on traders licence... so it wasnt registered. I knew I shouldnt have said anything. I just wanted to show u a pic i liked ... :)
I bought it from a collector.. was really lucky...it still had the clear wrapping from the factory on the seats! It had something like 150 miles on it.. so was just like new really.. he wanted to make more room for other toys and his misses told him he had to get rid of some of his other stuff...
Went up to Superchips in the worst weather I had ever driven in... mud thrown up by Lorries blinding the hell outa me...all the waya there on the motorway.. the car was coated in mud when I got there... doesnt look that bad in the pic tho... but was a few layers of road s**t on there..
Yes... I bought it new... so everything was standard... then the MK2 came out! so I put the MK2 rear lights....roof spoiler... and colour coded to boot lock.. Hayward and Scott exhaust.. went to Superchips headquarters and had them chip it... (waste of time..lol) think I spent about £5k doing...
I made a few changes after that pic... should have left it as it was.. but rear end saw most of the changes.. other bits ..KW coilovers... Carbon induction kit ..not much else
When I saw the wheels fitted on u'r 5 I wanted to buy them back..lol.. they looked awesome on the black car tho.. and made for it  hope u can buy it back and post a few more pics.. u only realise how much u miss it when its gone.
These are some great pics! :) I remember spinning my V6 pulling away from the lights at 5mph in the snow! be careful. A mini metro left me disappearing into the distance with its bicycle tyres cutting thro the snow...lol...not snow friendly.
Love the pics! :)
Cheers everyone.. :) Red decals will be going on again. I changed them to Silver more by mistake than anything. I picked up a new set just after I had the bodywork sorted... and Reno gave me the wrong ones (silver version)... but I ended up keeping them on there as they looked alright and a bit...
I've got a new set or the original 5GTT 'red side decals' and 51% in favour of putting them on to return it back to the original styling as it would have been from the factory.. I tried roughly painting on the red bits to see what you think? I like the idea of having the 80's style with those...
Cheers sash, you dont have to build a show car tho.. build it to your own taste.. and you can prob pick up a lot of cheaper parts on ebay.. but be carefull who u trust on there... but keep a look out and u might find some bits that you need at a good deal.
Renault, Demon Tweeks, GT Tuning, K-Tec, BB...also GSF can be handy for parts..worth a check.
Good luck with your own project mate.. and be ready with the swarfega :)
Hi Craig.. cheers mate :) at the mo.. not on the cards to sell.. depends what happens later in the year.. but would hate to sell it after all the work ..time.. money.. and polishing.
Rich... the 1st time around they were very good.. and did a good job.. but after a few months I noticed the laquer was coming through on the passenger door.. and went back in to have it re-done.. has been ok since.. but was in there 6 weeks just to get that bit done.. which seemed like a bit of...
I had a 1.9 gti in both Grey and Blue.. I just never felt the same addiction to them as the 5GTT (this is my 5th 5) Its just been something I always planned to do... to restore a 5GTT to nice example. For me I only like the original looks and not even the bigger wheels anymore. Even these in...
It was the only one I found after a lot of searching around....that was 'rust free' .. undereath was also as good... but needed every panel eith chip repaired or scratches removed or tiny dinks removed via 'chipsaway'. It cost as much as a full respray in the end but I wanted to keep as much of...
Cheers mate.. I have thought about it... so I'll let you know.. I remember there were a few peeps asking last year.. but I'll see how I feel this year... as I might be going overseas (but only a outside chance at the mo) thanks again.
