Easily make the 10 miles mate. driving part throttle and an occassional coast here n there i have done about 32 miles and still made it to a station. So its pretty good.

I brought a pack of 3 from tesco and they ended up in various places thanks to my mate. dash 1 in glove, 1 on mirror and 1 in boot. Presents a slight headache but smells good.
On the inside right hand grill lower you have some clipping there. On the left hand lower grill you have some cliping capability there. Its also plastic riveted into the top if you have the clips for the top of it which fixes to the slam panel.
Mine done the same.

If i can add to this post the problem after much reading the forum then maybe im right in suggesting a new alternator.
The cars rev counter will cut out every now and then under like a constant power, also with the whine noise. I think its this as the car cuts out when...

I have had this problem but with the rev counter. I was told that the TDC sensor being monitored by two ecu's (ITB setup and piggyback omex). So it gets mixed up.
However i also had the problem when the alternator botl snapped and caused it to come forward and not noticed it thus it pulled...
Hmmmm Sounds like what all new mums say. Its impracticle etc.
I let her know that any car we can afford at the time will not have the NCAP rating the clio has at that period in time and that its much safer.
I also went on to say its my pride and joy and gave her a really big guilt trip...
Not overly sure about the 1.2.
The engine light you describe if its amber in the right hand corner of dash then that is the o2 lambda sensor saying that the emmissions are kicking out, and the results are being read wrong. IIRC someone said that the lambda sensor if faulty will cause the car...
Na, it was good for a hobbit :) The course was well, good, had some tea n biscuits and then that was it. lol.
There is some dual carriage way. Could be better tho. Slow from Macc D's to carriage way.
