anything other than standard colours is always going to be a gamble. a guy round my way has sprayed his turinis orange on his black 182. any other time id say no way, but hes got a rollcage inside the same colour so it looks quite cool with the colour contrast especially on black. have a play!
its your car so do as you please!!!!! im sure i and others on here have done much worse with our first cars. thing is when you get a bit older you will know exactly what i mean though when you see a hot hatch coming at you with tints, oh and a bass box with thumpin toonz comin out da windowz...
i remember my vauxhall nova with tints, 17s, neons, alloy wind defelectors on the wiper arms, eyebrows.... i looked awesome in it, to myself. to anyone else.... a complete tool :-p
dude whatever you do dont do tints. if you do then id suggest sometype of overly expensive baseball cap to go with. tints are for prestige cars bmw, merc 4x4s etc, not clios fiestas or corsas. of course its upto you but we can only advise
or to make it clearer taking the plate off and changing the owner details is two seperate tasks.
1 send off the logbook to have the reg swapped first, then he would get back the retention form (with the private reg on - cost £90 i think) and new v5 (still in his name but with a new/original...
dude he would have had to send off the logbook and put the plate on retention and get the book back with the original reg on while registering the car to you. this does take a long while (not 3 months mind but thats dealers for ya). if youve received the replacement tax disc at your home address...
btw i know because ive swapped plates over that much over the last 15 years i consider myself an expert mug for paying the fees that have outweighed the cost of the plate 10 times over lol
no the reg has gone through now mate and it will be on a retention in his name. nothing you can do as technically its like you trying to claim ownership of a car you sold thats now in someone elses name. you could have though if youd have stuck to the dates though
its just down to how much time and effort you have. the last big job i did was fit a 24v 325 m50 block into my old e30. that was fun and a reasonably easy job as conversions go but i couldnt be bothered doing it again. id rather go with the evo although my 172 is plenty fast enough for me
im with esure and thats £320 a year with mods, full ncb aged 34 though lol. sometimes you need to reinsure with them
as if youre a new customer rather than renew to get the right price but customer care is excellent.
as for adrian flux they were great when i used to use them a few years back...
just had a look at their website. cant see any prices on clio remapping but if its anything like the price that the r26 map is then i think the diy job is the way forward. ill keep an eye out :-)
i wanted a 172 cup ideally but i sold my 172 and later on down the line i bought a 182 to replace it. then my 172 cane back up for sale so i bought it back and now ive got 2 lol. im just waiting to get my 182 back from the insurance repairers after someone knocked into the back of it and ill be...
i sold my 172 last year.... went to an e46 coupe (boring) then a derv astra which i gave to the mrs, then a derv vectra (which was useless on fuel.
im now back in a clio 182 and have recently bought back my old 172 aswell lol. cant beat em for the cash
does anyone have any links for seat covers for standard 1*2s? my seats are mint just dont want them getting trashed. pref some with diamonds on.... ive seen some on ebay but they seem to be tailored for recaros? any help appreciated cheers
not too bad, you can easily buy a more expensive car and still have to chuck 500 quid at out of nowhere so it was worth the gamble imo. bargains rarely exist though in the car game, if its cheap its usually for a reason and not because its your lucky day lol
kayzee you hit the nail on the head. i went from my 172 to a bmw 318 (boring), then a fuel saving derv (astra) to another derv (vectra) and now im back in the original car i sold.... so to answer your question yes i bloody well did take my clio for granted. wont be doing that again anytime soon!
i recently bought back my old 172 which is pretty much as it was, few dents need pinging though. few stories....
my mate sold his standard and immaculate red e30 318is and 4 years later its appeared on ebay rattle canned matt black with turquoise wheels on and evo 5 spoiler. wounded isnt...
hi dude. just a thought.... i had an oil leak that went everywhere from the two round cam seals on the top pass side of the engine next to the inlet. when they had been out (presumably to lock the cams to change the belt) new ones werent fitted and oil was leaking out from the screwdriver marks...
