fitting this today. do people rate the foam filter supplied or would you swap it out for a paper cone? ive always heard that foam filters dont filter dust out as well as they should. also what do people think to ktecs performance packages?
the insert on the wiper arm was fused to the spindle on mine bigtime. i broke the wiper of with mole grips and it was still stuck on. then i undid the motor and pulled it out with the insert still connected. then viced it and bashed it off but the motor spindle was fubar'd. dewipered now ;-)
funny you should mention the cooper s scenario. had a cooper s pre 07 and a post 07 have a go at me at the same time the other day on the a50. smoked the pair of them lol which surprised even me. was the fuel con this bad before the lambda was changed? if not and looking at those rs tuner...
its rough but for a v6 copy thats not too bad compared to some of the horrors ive seen pop up on fleabag. at least theyve tried to make something serious out of it however you cant take away the fact that the advert advert is written in fluent pikey though lol. good find
good man. yeah the filter didnt do much... i was going to fit a ktec but i always go the sensible route and buy twice :-/ first lowering springs - coilovers now kn - ktec. money to waste ... oh yes. keep up the thread id like to see how this pans out :-)
doesnt make any difference imo but kn are the best so they claim. no noise either. im fitting a ktec induction kit next week anyway so neither here nor there. i want to do the rs tuner map at some point aswell! how much did it cost all in? can you diagnose other faults ie airbags or is it purely...
Re: Went to view this 172 today... (salesmen rant)
looks well on the pics but as we all know they can be deceiving! mine was pretty much identical to that (colour..wheels... mileage) when i bought it but i have a receipt for the belts and i got mine for 1500 with pretty much immaculate...
ha ha i know what you mean mate. my leads were badly corroded and the fuel rail cover is the area that can chafe through the loom. i fitted a kn to mine 30 quid delivered from jjc raceandrally off ebay shops. reading up it could be an injector... ill have to get it fault read to be 100% sure but...
42 miles to a quarter tank! deep pockets required! mines lumpy aswell but i can get 300 miles out of it to fumes if i brim it. ive changed old plugs... a very dodgy set of leads and the coilpack for the sake of it. also checked over the fuel rail loom as its a problem where the loom rubs...
i sell tcut at work. its such a dated product and there are much better versions out now. paint renovator by autoglym is a likewise product and does a better job imo. that said tcut has such a big name nowadays you simply cant sell some people anything else... they think because of the name its...
for me the clio revs overly high for mway use as a reg. these characteristics though are what makes it an awesome car off the mway. i have just a stealth back box which is louder than standard but it was still loud though with the stanfard (from an inside cab point of view) as is my mates 172...
read what i put dude... i said fuel econ out of the equation. i love my clio... but after a one off trip to leicester the other day which isnt a million miles from me is a firm reminder that they are no rep wagon. if you can put up with the drone of 4000k revs for however long your journey is...
172s and motorways do not mix. i love my 172 to bits but if i had to do major motorway miles in it it would be a used as a second car or sold. leaving fuel econ out the equation they rev way to high for regular mway use imo unless you do 50mph everywhere which kinda defeats the point of owning...
hi dude. i fit these at work. please check this... pull out the headunit and where the parrot lead is connected look for a yellow wire. disconnect this wire and then take it for a test run and see what happens. when youre using your phone the kit is telling the radio to mute by dropping an earth...
cant see then vid... but i had a problem with mine when i fitted my vmaxx coilovers. thought it was the wheel catching the body at first but it turned out that the problem was too much camber was dialled in and the driveshafts were taking a hammering when turning to a certain point. in a...
looking at the title i thought itd be some type of new xxx title involving stopping someone from the rear lol seriously though i believe that they are configured to each car and are not universal.....
thank you... he mustve missed the 1st post in BLOCK CAPITALS. anyway i just wanted to know if the auto feature worked and it seems that itwill. cheers for the help guys
deejuk.. i know id eventually get haze on new ones but as im not that bothered about xenon as i can get a new standard set...
lol. no not mad just dont bark out about standard xenons. had them on two cars now... my vectra and now the clio ...not all that tbh.. imo anyway. aftermarket ones throw more light due to the out of line beam in a non hid lens but it is a bit shite retro fitting them...they are hazed but cant be...
evening all. im seriously thinking of downgrading my headlights to standards basically because i want a new set of lights to freshen up my 172 and i dont think xenons are all that anyway (getting old i know). would the auto light function still work if i did this or does it only work with the...
cheers dude. ive told my paint guy to do them in silver. he said gunmetal or anthracite would look ok but ive said ill stay safe and stick with my usual hyper silver. cant be bothered payin for the job twice if i dont like the outcome lol and at the end of the day it does look cleaner. :-)
