Pete- either will be fine for your car. It's basically that speedo drive gearboxes have a sensor which runs the speedo. Yours picks up the speedo from the ABS, so the sensor could just be made redundant.

Get a second hand stub axle. Will only be £30 or so from someone breaking a car on here and it'll make sure it's a perfect fit. Did you torque up the rear discs properly? They need to be pretty much spot on to 175nm or you'll be swapping them every 5-8k miles.
