    Engine swap info

Don't bother mate. Sell yours. Buy something else. Not worth the hassle on a Mk1.

    Different injectors in my 172?

As with Danny, i've only ever seen the Magnetti ones. They're cheap enough second hand, get it swapped over.

do i have to apply copper grease to new pads?

Funny thing is I don't use copper grease either. I use a dab of regular white grease. Always have. Never had any problems.

Changing wheels when hot at trackdays

Excessive wear down the centre suggests the pressures were still too high? What kind of psi do you run at?

    Our very broken engine....

Cracking effort that! Made a proper mess.

do i have to apply copper grease to new pads?

Lol at NEVER EVER. I'd agree with NEVER EVER putting it on contact patches, but around the back of the pads and where it hits the sliders isn't going to do any harm.

do i have to apply copper grease to new pads?

Not essential, just a bit more likely to squeak.

Changing wheels when hot at trackdays

No need to swap them around tbh. Just make sure the pressures are right.

    Renault Garage Confusing Me

It's Motrio oil they're giving away at the minute. Just use it, it's every bit as good as Elf.

Pure motorsport top mount package vs whiteline arb

Second hand Bilsteins would be my choice. Awesome for fast road use. There's a set for sale in the for sale section now.

As long as it's got metal impellers it'll be fine.

You taking the box to Agency? If so, that seems like the top money he'd charge.. I'd budget £250. He doesn't charge to send back- you book the courier both ways iirc. If you've got enough space, no need for the tensioner tool. 3/8 extension and a ratchet/bar works just fine. Saying that...

    Clio Racing?

My advice would be to get yourself a box of stella's and read the Burpspeed thread from beginning to end. Once you've done that, pop down to the Llandow trackday in August and have a chat to people there. Maybe Tony would give you ten minutes of his time to give you a rundown. Top bunch of...

    Top man Mick. Well sorted.

Engine rattle, water pump? Vid inside

£380 for the refurb? That including couriers? I wouldn't bother taking the engine out if you have no crane. Remove the gearbox, then while that's out, move the engine over enough to give you space to do the aux belt.

    You got an engine crane?

Pennies. Aux belt kit is only £60 or so for the parts.

    Power/reliability. What/how. Cost effective?

Correct. Give James or Mike a call and they'll answer all your queries.

    Power/reliability. What/how. Cost effective?

You know, unless you're going big power (220bhp upwards) I wouldn't bother. Especially if you want it exactly the same as a daily car. The benefits you'll gain from 20bhp will be well outweighed by the drawbacks IMO.

    Coloured CV Boots?

There is a company that makes them for old beetles. Can't see them taking off though- you can't even see them on a Clio unless you're underneath.

    Coloured CV Boots?

Definitely someone testing the water to see if he should make them. I just searched on google for 'coloured CV boots' and he's posted exactly the same thread on about ten different forums.
