Lol at NEVER EVER.
I'd agree with NEVER EVER putting it on contact patches, but around the back of the pads and where it hits the sliders isn't going to do any harm.
You taking the box to Agency? If so, that seems like the top money he'd charge.. I'd budget £250. He doesn't charge to send back- you book the courier both ways iirc.
If you've got enough space, no need for the tensioner tool.
3/8 extension and a ratchet/bar works just fine.
Saying that...
My advice would be to get yourself a box of stella's and read the Burpspeed thread from beginning to end.
Once you've done that, pop down to the Llandow trackday in August and have a chat to people there. Maybe Tony would give you ten minutes of his time to give you a rundown.
Top bunch of...
£380 for the refurb? That including couriers?
I wouldn't bother taking the engine out if you have no crane. Remove the gearbox, then while that's out, move the engine over enough to give you space to do the aux belt.
You know, unless you're going big power (220bhp upwards) I wouldn't bother.
Especially if you want it exactly the same as a daily car.
The benefits you'll gain from 20bhp will be well outweighed by the drawbacks IMO.
Definitely someone testing the water to see if he should make them.
I just searched on google for 'coloured CV boots' and he's posted exactly the same thread on about ten different forums.
