I bought mine especially as a frequent flyer. Epic is all I'll say. Great audio quality and the noise cancelling works really well, even sitting right by the engines.
The battery lasts ages too!
I've been out in a few bodied cars with all sorts of mods and wasn't blown away at all.
Unless you go down the forced induction route, engine mods are a waste of money IMHO.
Looks good Dunx, from the tiny thumbnail. Flickr links do my f**king head in when on an iOS device. Why does it have to open safari! Just enlarge the image!!
I only ask about the rear seats as I'd like to fit my bike(s) in there. If not, then I guess it will be a case of wheels off, and on the back seats instead.
Hopefully chatting to the other owner tomorrow sometime. I don't think he's too far away either, so might visit it. Just want to do all...
I'd be lying if I said I hadn't spent about 2 hours looking at/for more E39s for sale. There's only 3 cars on PH that interest me, two black ones for 10k and an absolutely mint one for 16k. That one has been for sale for a long time, so a silly off might get accepted, you never know.
Even...
If you do any future ones I could turn up, as I'm moving to Cheltenham in a few weeks. Right next to wait rose, so that would be a good venue for me ;)
You get what you pay for. Remember that.
If you just want it slammed, get some racelands. That's about all they're good for.
If you want proper suspension, you have to pay for it!
Performance wise there's nothing in it, some will even say the 182 is quicker due to the 197/200 being a bit lardy.
I would only upgrade if you want a better car to live with everyday and aren't bothered about just performance.
Might have ;)
Tbh, as these are quite rare (relatively speaking) I don't think they'll come up often.
I did increase the max price and found this one though: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/m5/bmw-e39-m5/803559
Looks a stunner too!
I think I would have to be taken out in one before I got really serious.
Despite being an epic car, coming from my car history I'm worried I'll find it too big and 'fat'.
I might have to pop to yours for a passenger ride ;)
Fixed lenses rock! Partly why I got the fixed lens X100.
They make you think about the shot more as you can't 'cheat' and zoom in on details.
And they're normally faster if you get a good one so you can play about with super shallow depth of fields.
