I have taken the plunge! G3 on it's way with kit lens and 20mm. Hearing battery life is poor so need to get a 2nd battery. Panasonic official ones are so expensive though!

Not seen that one! All I can find is the pancake 14-42 with motorised zoom.

I did think about the power zoom, but still think the 14-42 OIS is best bet for me. Plus I like the G3 body design very much!

Had a play with the G3m and 14-42 lens in jessops today. My god its tiny! Build is fairly decent and the EVF performs ok! Tried the GH3 too, but the G3 just seemed better in the hand. Think thats my choice sorted! Will get the 20mm too and maybe the 40-150 in due course!

Holiday: D90 18-200 50mm f1.8 Covers all I need!

50mm f1.8 AF-S has arrived!

Was the lens TBH, the 18-105 whilst not great, is good for a kit lens. So looking forward to getting the 50!

Right, after lookig at some images taken with the 18-105, its clear that the 16-85 is very soft at the long end. The 18-105 being sharper at 85 through to 105. The build is obviously not so good, but I managed to sell the lens and order myself a 18-105 and 50mm f1.8 :-)

Had a look at the primes this afternoon.. the new 50mm f1.8 does look rather nice. Would say build is better than the 35mm and pics are very nice. Reviews have it sharper than the f1.4 version which is twice the price.

No filters Tigger. Think I am going to revert back to the standard 18-105 and play with sharpness levels. For a £400+ lens the 16-85 just isn't worth it IMO and I should get my money back on what I paid for it anyway. This will leave me enough to get the 18-105 back + the 35mm F1.8 AF-S or the...
