I'm going to take an amateur guess and say you have either blown a fuse or two... or you have managed to unplug something important whilst fiddling around. Sorry I can't be of more help dude, hope you get it sorted.

It doesn't leave any sticky residue. If you don't like it's easy to just peel it off. It shouldn't damage your shiny silver and if anything it would clean it by bringing up all the dirt onto the sticky side of the vinyl when peeling it off. Picture of the carbon vinyl badge on my car that I did...

I think it looks awesome mate. I would have loved to have done this to my last car, as it was covered in stickers on the outside. I never sticker 'bombed' though, which was a shame. It was an S Reg so the interior was a bit crap anyway.
