Check the wiring loom under the bumper by the passenger side fog light. Get a multimeter on the connector and see what you get :rasp:
I had the same problem - cleaned up the contacts and they work fine.
I personally love the look of the 182 alloys, especially in anthracite with the cup pack ... and yep the dual exhaust may not have been designed too brilliantly but I prefer it to the look of the 172. Driving experience isn't hugely different between the two models, but the 182 just has...
I'm pretty sure they all do that ... not something I've paid massive amounts of attention to, but I'm almost certain an oil meter appears at least when you start up.
I must admit I'd have LOVED to get a FF RB ... it's the colour I wanted since driving a 182 back in 2005. But since there were no good RBs for sale back in July I bought a BG from R-Sports.
Therefore by my logic BG is the best colour lol.
Same here! Had a 172 back in 2005 and loved it. Had a few different cars after selling it in 2007 (including a dog of a 172), but nothing else scratched the itch! I always wanted a FF 182 and finally got what I wanted. Plus it had Recaros as a factory fitted option ... which are just awesome.
Yeah, I'd just check dates / mileage on the cambelt and aux belt. I've just bought a 55 plate so was looking out for the same things. Luckily Steve from R-Sports had a BG 182 available at the time :p Looks like I'm just down the road from you too!
As above, Black Gold 182 with a private plate in Tamworth this morning, going onto the A5 from Stoneydelph.
I was about 6-7 cars back in my own Black Gold 182 :D
Have you checked the relays under the glovebox attached to the UCH? Do you hear them click when you turn the fogs on?
I had a problem with my front fogs a few weeks back - I got a multimeter on the wiring loom by the passenger side fog and checked the voltage. Just needed to clean the contacts...
I used to see my old Black 172 (DK04) around Cov after I shopped it in ... that car was evil. Think another member bought it from the trader I px'd it to. Only had it 6 months so no fond memories there!
My old Monaco blue 172 went directly to another member (Oggy172), now it's buggered :-(...
Sorted my economy woes - not sure if it was bad fuel or the Redex I'd put through the system (I know, it probably doesn't do anything but I like to put 1 bottle through / year) but I averaged 37 from the last 1/2 tank and this morning it hit 39 on my commute.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't buy the...
I wish I could get that - and I should be with my driving style and commute route... if I reset the mpg readout on a 50mph stretch it averages 42mpg over a 5 mile run. Then zero'd again down the motorway at 70mph for 7 miles it averages 38 ... thats 90% of my journey and the rest is 30/40mph...
I'm getting around 34mpg out of my FF 182 - had 2 x 172s before and I'm sure they were much better on fuel.
At 70mph on the motorway the fuel economy drops massively - had it drop from an average of 36 to 33.3 over 6 miles of clear steady driving on the M42. Bit worrying.
Yeah, mine must've been a glitch with the key communicating with the immobilizer - it only happened yesterday morning, then it was fine 5 mins later and all day yesterday ... and I used the car a lot yesterday for short trips. Also fine last night and this morning! WD40'd it anyway ... I must...
I had the same this morning, really worried me. Wouldn't start at all and the immobilizer light was flashing quickly. Left the key in the ignition for 1 min, turned it off and left it for 30 secs, then it started with no problems. It's been started 5-6 times since today and no issues at all...
Yep, that's what I bought and it didn't work. I was told it'd be a different adapter as apparently they made some wiring changes in 2005... and mine was registered in Nov 2005. I'm being pointed to the CTSRN005 at the moment, but it's £40+ rather than £25. Probably explains why the supplier...
Yep - plugged it all in and the steering controls didn't work at all! The supplier reckons I might need CTSRN004 instead - which looks like it might be correct looking at the yellow adapter on the pic.
Cleaned the relay under the dashboard, then the connector under the splitter, and the end connectors for the bulbs - now getting 12v and all working :-)
I have exactly the same issue on my 182. Dash light comes on, I hear the relay click, but no lights! I have 12v at the fuse box, but 1v getting to the lights :-(
Bulb didn't work - checked all looms and they're intact. Put a bit of wd40 on the connectors by the front splitter ... The fogs still don't work, and now I don't get a light on the dash for my sidelights! Lol. Damn these French electrics!
