Thanks guys. This is the first car I've ever tried to sell privately, so It's a little stressful. I'm gona price it a bit lower than £6.5k due to the higher miles than normal. Hopefully this should raise some more interest.
Luckily it's a standard car that hasnt been modified, so it should be...
Thanks, didnt look in there. Have pm'd a few people with details. Could let it go for a little cheaper than advertised if anyone's interested. Been a great car, and would rather have it go to an ethusiastic owner rather than any guy off the street.
Thanks for the feedback by the way, much...
Hey guys, I need some advice selling my 172. It's a 53 reg in monaco blue with 47k miles in. It's advertised in the "for sale" section. Started asking £6695 for it, but dropped it down to £6295, and will prob have to go lower. All HPI cleared, nothing dodgy about it, just need to sell it before...
I average around 32mpg drivng to work and back - roughly 35mile round trip. This is using 97RON too. Can't wait to try Tesco 99 now they have it in Coventry!!!!
Lowest I've got is 27mpg, only when I've pushed it a lot down country roads on the way to work. It's gotta be done though!
Definately. Will post some pics over xmas some time. Have a great holiday everyone incase I don't visit here again before Sunday. And remember kids, don't drink and drive, especially not in a 172bhp hatchback!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AT CLIOSPORT.NET
At last I've picked up my 172 :D
Absolutely love it, easy to drive fast, and also very relaxing when you just want to take it easy.
Just got to get used to the power now!
Shame she couldn't have run the f****r down, but then I bet she'd be put away for GBH or some stupid s**t like that. How can this type of thing happen nowadays?! Makes me sick.
My choice of what car to buy was down to these two cars. This is what I thought of the two after a couple of test drives:
Clio was cheaper and had MUCH better specification.
CTR felt as if you had to push it to get really good performance - but when you did it felt amazing :). The clio was...
To start my car I run around it 3 times holding a stuffed badger in both hands shouting "Damn yous, damn yous all to hell". Then I calmly open the door, put the key in the ignition and start it up. works a treat every time.
Yep, the original pick up date was Dec 23rd. Luckily I finish work at 12:30 on Fridays so I can pick it up early afternoon. Have a nice 40 mile run back home from Notts after collecting it, might take a slightly longer route through some B roads. :D
Yep, some little chavs did the same to me while my car was parked in Coventry. Had a full silver disklock on, flashing light from alarm on the dash and everything. They still tried though. Had nothing on show and they tried to open the driver's side, not the passenger's nearest the glovebox...
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They can't get it ready until next week - don't think they've done any preparation on it. Suppose 2 days notice was a bit short. These are going to be the longest 7 days of my life. Damn it.
definately won't sleep tonight. Best thing about it is that my insurance company aren't going to charge me any extra for this extra week! It's usually "£10 admin fee + VAT + Another random charge" but it's free! Got something free for once!!!! Yey! :D
I was supposed to be picking up my gorgeous little 172 in Monaco blue on 23rd Dec, but plans have changed at work freeing up this Friday and Saturday. Have spoken with the garage and they don't see why i can't pick it up this friday (16th). Just waiting for confirmation which I'll get first...
When I come to renew my insurance in just under a month I'll be 23 with 1yrs NCB, 1 claim and have been quoted £1145 with direct line ('53 reg 172). Not too bad when compared to other people's premiums!!!!
Cheers guys, you've answered my questions dead quickly. Will be staying away from bassjunkies this xmas - should hopefully be investing in some Rainbows or Alpines. Well, the relatives will be anyway! Luckily my dad's an autoelectrician, so all the fitting is dead easy and free. Getting a gps...
Bargh! Too much choice. Think i'll have to nip over to bassjunkies or Fletcher's in Brum and have a good look. Anyone got the rainbows fitted in their car? Do they fit flush on the dash?
I hope they catch the b*****ds and string them up by their nutsacks. These sort of people just don't deserve to live. I wish there were harsher punishments for this sort of thing, Can't believe people think its ok to break into another person's house and steal their bloody car?!! I wish these...
I honestly don't know, I should imagine not as they reckon it costs £100 more than a usual service to get the aux belt done, and I've heard Renault charge a frikkin' fortune for any work which requires the bumper to be taken off. Then again, the belt can't really cost a lot of money....i'm...
I bought one as it was the best spec'd, most fun car I could afford. I'd test driven a 182, Type-R, Cooper S, Golf TDI (mk4 150bhp) and Seat Leon FR TDi, but the clio just left a lasting impression on me. Paid £8500 for my 53 reg 172 (pick it up two weeks today!),and to get a Civic (my second...
I've heard its the 36k service that you need to watch out for as the auxhillary belt needs to be changed. My local dealership reckoned it'd cost the wrong side of £300 for it.
cheers, I've heard the Alpines are very good, will have to try and find a good local car audio place and see if they'll let me measure them up next to the originals.
I'm after a bit of advice... I'm planning on changing the front speakers in my clio when I pick it up, and am unsure of what to buy. I've got a budget of around £70-£80 and am looking for a good set of components which will fit into the standard pods as I want it to look 'as standard'. Any ideas...
