Sounds like my kind of place. Just checked with the other half and that's where she got my Monopod and Head from, she said they were great and I know she got a great price.
Will certainly head there for the D90, when I purchased my D50 I got it in London Camera Exchange (Bath), sadly it...
Was this T4 in Swindon? Was watching some vids on Youtube of guys just playing around with a D90 in a camera store in the US and I was absurdly jealous, it appeared as far removed from the likes of Jessops as you can get! This place you went to sounds just like that :)
Glad to hear you liked it...
Not a flash person myself but I read a very gushing review of this recently (by a Canon user) who said that the SB-900 would convert him in a second, because nothing in any of the other DSLR ranges comes anywhere close.
Almost made me want one, until I looked at the price...and considered...
That was the one, yep. Nice area around there.
95 degrees sounds as bad as -17 to be honest, not sure I could cope walking all day in that heat (unless I had a fridge full of Snapple with me all day!)
Mega efficient city though, all the snow was cleared by 7:30am every day, which caught a...
Great stuff, love the second shot of the Time Warner Center, I bought a cup of tea there...never again (it was green, for a start)
Funny seeing grass and people with t-shirts on etc, we always go in February so the park is full of snow and everybody is maxxed out with winter gear (-17 last time)
Has anyone got one yet? Sold one of my D50s today ;) so I'm well on the way, but as I live in the middle of nowhere I won't be able to go and physically play with one for ages.
Would be interested in what prices people dig up as well.
I was wondering that, obviously with something like the 18-200 it's going to be really useful at the long end, but I can't see the immediate benefits with a standard lens.
I guess it will allow you to shoot later into the evening, but then why didn't they just remove the VR and make it a bit...
Great stuff, particularly the 'damp' shots, is that Westway?
I take it the Saloon guys had time to get onto wets? It's a great leveller anyway, fantastic to see Nick and Jason Cooper on the tail of the Astra and 206 etc.
Where is that? I assume London way, no idea there was a Koenigsegg dealership in the UK (although it looks like a one-stop shop for supercars, can see a Spyker logo in the background as well)
Nikon D50 and a Sigma 120-300mm 2.8. Camera was a bargain (about £100 off here), lens not so much, that cost £899.
Cheapest way in is something like a second-hand D50 (usually about £150) and a Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 (about £90), with a lot of practice you can get results fairly similar to...
Yes it was. first time I've ever tried it, didn't realise how close you could get to the fence so it worked quite well.
Old Paddock was very entertaining, a few of the Evos were completely sideways for a few seconds around there on every single lap. Jason Cooper was the star though, immense...
Last day of the season at Combe today so I dropped in for a short while, illness is causing problems with my camera holding abilities so it was a case of do the best I can in short bursts. Entertaining weather, seeing the rain start to come down whilst the monster Jags were racing was quite a...
The Cup wasn't limited edition in terms of numbers, they only stopped building them when the 182 replaced the 172.
Never understood the people who selected aircon though.
Yet has so much more...
Brings to mind the initial comments about the Clio Trophy, and all the arguments over the lack of extra power. Nobody hardly even noticed the suspension mods on the spec list.
I think you either 'get' cars like this or you don't. Me? I would sell my soul for one, love it.
D50 or D80 for AF motor at a reasonable price. I imagine there will be some deals to be had on the D80 soon because the D90 will gradually replace it (as there was for the D200 when the D300 came out)
Or go second-hand, keep an eye on...
Which version? There is:
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG APO Macro HSM
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 APO EX DG Macro HSM II
If it's the II, it's a good price, but if it's the original that's not a massive saving, assuming it's second-hand.
Cracking lens though, I would always be inclined to get glass over a...
Swings and roundabouts I guess, general consensus is that Nikon have shot ahead with the technology in the D3/700/300, which is now already filtering down to cheaper cameras like the D90. Low light performance in particular is nothing short of outstanding, and in general terms reviewers say it's...
I don't think any of those things bother/worry/interest me in the slightest, so it's all good.
More excited by the fact it basically has the basic imaging properties of the D3 and D300 (same processor etc, even updated, slightly), which means super accurate image recording, stunning high ISO...
47 post thread about it here...

Although unsurprisingly discussion turned to the D90, as Pete says it's about 1/4 of the price and still offers most of the functionality/benefits in terms of video. I don't think there is any particular...
As Steve/Animal said, I've been a bit all over the place lately, and haven't really been in the mood to do some 'work' and sort this out. Got a few hospital stints coming up as of this afternoon, but all being well I should be free one morning this week to get a poll sorted.
Sorry for the delay!
