Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
it's always been down to how much of the ecu code has been translated/decoded, and having someone clever enough to find the right bits of code, then change to the right settings for the way the idle and return to idle is controlled. It's not just raising the idle...
they've used odd terminology to be honest. They might be refering to track rod ends I guess. I'd suggest taking it to someone that knows more about clios than the mot tester
probably means the front strut top mounts. I wouldn't take much notice, seen the same kind of advisory with new mounts. They look strange when you turn the steering but that's normal
picture of the device. specs, type of processor
Can't reflash it without knowing what it is as any ROM has to be device specific to have the right drivers. Reflash the wrong way and you'll brick it.
It's even possible there is no internal WIFI and you need to get a USB wifi dongle/nano
Intended use is important IMO. A 7 inch is ideal if you still need a laptop for specific programs. A bit bigger is good for heavier use. I got my mum an eken w70 for Christmas, its pretty basic but for her its great. An iPad would be wasted on her
if they're yellow tagged pico's, they're 480cc, but not a good spray pattern. They're ducati injectors, designed to sit outside port throttles and spray a long thin stream of fuel in at high rpm.
Yellows will spray like 1st on left, you want them like 2nd on left. I would just buy a new set of...
if the light is flashing, that signifies a "destructive misfire" usually either a dead injector, or liquid down a sparkplug hole.
You'll need it to be plugged in to identify the exact fault
you're unlikely to get 300bhp without a bigger turbo. the biggest improvement you'll see with a good map is huge torque. You'll hit 300lb/ft before you get past 270bhp. At that point the car will be incredible.
if boxes are not restrictive, there's no reason you can't achieve 350 from a 2.5...
biggest single gain I've seen was 9.8bhp. the engine had high comp pistons, and 438s. the lower output was using a brand new pipercross panel filter in a ph2 airbox.
I saw 7bhp gain with GT cams, going from a ph1 airbox with brand new pipercross filter, to KTR IK
I think Laines cup with no mods...
I've seen a number of pistons with cracked ringlands. Every one of them has also had evidence of detonation on the crown of the piston right above the broken piece. It's crap maps causing issues
again, no, the most you'll get from these on stock inlet is going to be 200bhp and 165lb/ft
I sold my 172 on stock inlet, running 421s without issues. We got round the idle problems with some adjustments
no
you can do 210 on 422s with high comp on stock inlet with relative ease. Torque will be no more than 165lb/ft, and both curves will be a lot peakier than with throttle bodies, but it will drive well if done properly
FBW doesn't need replacing, just use a GEN90 ECU. Definitely keep VVT...
depends what fuel line/regulator setup you run. on a ph1 setup with return line and regulator on the rail with boost/vac pressure correction the megane injectors (~480cc) will do over 300bhp with ease, probably 320bhp at 100% duty and ~11.8:1 AFR
630s will be doing in the region of 70% duty at...
