They are super sensitive when not bolted into the car.Bolt them in and fully extend them and loop a cable tie around the end to stop them retracting whilst cleaning them.
Before you remove your seatbelts, pull all the slack out so the belts are fully extended. Now wrap a cable tie around it at the end to stop it recoiling.
When you come to refit them, bolt them all up and undo the cable tie at the end.
That's a shame as it goes really well.
3 dB is quite a lot though, didn't really think it was over loud when I last heard it run at Oulton Park.
Thanks for passing on the info to that guy too,he ordered some adaptors yesterday ;)
Mine have been designed with that in mind.
My VBD X-Low mounts are far from the bits of "flat bar" and "box iron" welded together, usually very badly.
Not long now.
Cheers
I will hopefully have a new design X-Low design subframe available shortly.
Waiting on samples for test fitting and then pricing depending on how many I order.
Any machine shop should be able to sort that out for you .
It would seem that the brackets though are the original problem,if they were 1mm taller it would save the messing around.
Hope you get sorted.
I'm pretty certain the standard pre tensioner bolt is 7/16 UNF.
As for fixing the pre tensioner to the OMP subframe, you may be able to bolt an eyelet through your floorpan and fix the pre tensioner to that.
You need a subframe to bolt directly to your floor and if using a slider you then bolt this Inbetween seat and subframe as your seat is base mounted.
I've got drivers side subframes here.
£40 plus £10 post.
This one is actually a passenger.
I've been speaking to a guy today who can supply all the parts for the V6 look, he came recommended by a V6 owner who said they are the best available.
All down to the customer to see if it's what he wants now.
Thanks for all the info.
The car is being converted into a V6,not a Renault engine though and is going to be AWD.
The car is a competition car so the panels are required to host the drivetrain comfortably.
Cheers
I'm looking for some good fitting panels for a 255 shape V6 Clio.
I've been told originals are thin on the ground and mighty expensive so what are people using ?
Cheers
He did say he was going to use it,to be fair though he is always working and rarely gets to use any of his cars.
Will be nice to see in the flesh as it should be as new.
