I'm at the airport as I type. I should get some free time possibly this evening, if not early next week. The photos won't be anything special this time as every possible viewing stand (apart from BRDC) was closed! So getting a clean shot of the track was almost impossible

Well a UV filter is pointless, and will do exactly that....nothing. To test your polarising filter, take it off the camera and hold it up to a computer monitor (so you're looking at the monitor through the filter). Turn the filter. The monitor should go from normal to pretty much black.

Great shot Scott. Nice foreground interest too! This was me earlier today, looking forward to a promising evening of photography. BUT.....what you can't tell from that photo is the distinct lack of memory cards in the camera! FUUUUUU!!
