I’ll soon be advertising my 2118’s they’re in perfect condition, have been powder-coated satin black but were not curbed or damaged beforehand – I just did it for a colour change. Let me know if you’re interested? Would be collection only in SW Essex.
I’m having some 421’s put in as we speak and will therefore have the original cams spare, is there are market for original cams and if so how much should I advertise them for? - They’ve only done 24k.
I’m going to have a go at spraying a 2nd set of track wheels myself, they don’t have to be perfect but knowing me I’ll try and get them as close as possible. I used some white Enamel spray paint the other day from Halfords repairing a scratch on our backdoor external hinge and the finish looked...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
I've a feeling James has also got the Pure rear-beam stiffening kit, therefore I think an ARB in addition will be too much, if not then agree.

Try stiffening the rear shocks a couple of clicks, should make the rear a little more playful and help with the understear. Once they’re at 4 or 5 clicks (out of 11 I think) a couple more clicks either way...

Good choice on the Sportline 2's James, it's what I'm running, have been really pleased with them. About 45/50% stiffness front & rear feels about right and then soften the rear a touch when its wet.
If you’re not running any spacers then you will be ok with ET 37's rather than the standard ET 45, this will in fact give you a little more track (width). Just be careful if you do have spacers as the extra offset of the 37’s might start rubbing your tyres on the inside of your arches.
I’ve heard that the F1’s don’t take too well to being hammered over the rumble strips, they’ll definitely be lighter, but as a result of being lighter they’ll be less strong.
The ET43’s are the OEM Renault wheels, the 37’s must be aftermarket. With regards track wheels although the F1’s are lightweight I’d recommend something more heavy-duty. I and most on track use the Speedline 2118’s, they’re heavier but will take the abuse.

Hi James, the car’s looking good! (The wheels are different since the last time I saw it though?)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Ok, thanks Chip/James - will definitely leave it on, it’s the mid-range torque I love - wouldn't want to loose that!! Matt's hoping for another 10ftlb with the 421's. Interesting with regards the ABS, although...

Yes, hunted a long time for such a low miler. Its had both sides and the bonnet re-sprayed so that's why it probably looked so tidy!! Good to hear, apparently that's about it as far as power is concerned...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
The engine (and car) has only done 24k so it doesn't need a re-build yet, Matt will be sticking some 421's in as apparently they're the wildest that can be fitted with standard pistons, along with ARP bolts so...

Hi James, hope you’re well, haven’t been on much lately due to work but have enjoyed being kept updated on your thread. Saw your car at TDF a couple of weeks ago – its looking good.. Mine’s going back at the...
Give the guys at PolishedBliss a call, I’m in the same boat as you and am going to buy my first DA, the guy there recommended the Kestrel Power Plus Polisher as it was more powerful than the G220. I had to ask the same question as to soft/medium/hard, he explained that most Japanese cars are...
Thanks, I got the impression 421's are for standard engines & ECU whereas 428's are for ITB's & stand-alone ECU's. I'm just wondering if I could go wilder?
Sorry to highjack the thread a bit but this thread has been good reading as Dr Faulks will soon be fitting some uprated cams in my 172. It’s currently at 202bhp / 175ftlb with ITB's, de-cat & EC1 etc. I think Matt mentioned fitting 428's and we’d be looking at 215-220bhp and 185ftlb but it...
Once I looked at the manual and turned the fuse layout diagram 90 degrees it made sense, you were correct - it was for the interior lights and stereo. Since I have neither it didn't matter that the fuse had blown. Thanks for your help.
Thanks, the car has gremlins at the moment and not sure if the blown fuse is anyway connected to any of it. Its going in to Matt at TDF tomorrow so will hopefully all get solved.

3rd up on the left from bottom, looks like a picture of a headlight, but the headlight fuses look to be further up??
When checking for something else I noticed the fuse had blown but as far as I can tell everything is working ok??
I thought I posted some photos of it all but clearly I didn’t. Not sure I have the photos anymore but will have a look for them. To be truthful id forgotten I had all the work done as now the car just feels ‘normal’, it doesn’t feel too harsh on the road and have done a few track days since so...
