Yes just like that. You're running the two fuel lines to and from the standard regulator/rail, if you were to fit an adjustable regulator in the wheel-well you would only need to run one line to the rail.
Ha ha, yes "swirl-pot" wrote that too quickly!! Anyway, I believe the fuel pick-up is on the right-hand side of the tank/s so when the car goes around a long right-hander the fuel all sloshes to the left and you get starvation until the car straightens itself. The spare wheel-well in a 172 is...
Is this on a 172? (not sure if the 182 is the same) If so I had the same problem and it’s because of the saddle-bag style fuel tanks, I had to fit a swirl-poy and extra fuel-pump.
May be you're right but I'm only repeating what the guy at Mintex told me. He had no reason to BS me as I told him I was going to purchase a Mintex pad whatever as they're only one of maybe two manufacturers that make pads for the Willwoods. I guess the reasoning behind it is that the less...
I spoke to Mintex (or whatever the parent company is called) when I needed some more aggressive pads for the Willwoods and had a lengthy conversation with the technical guy there, he said the 1144's are designed for lightweight circa 500kg cars like the Caterhams/Westfields etc, the 1155's are...
1144's are for lightweight cars like Caterhams etc, 1155's are for 'hot-hatches' etc, I’m running 1166's in my Willwoods and even then I’m thinking of putting something more aggressive in like the Mintex F4R.
Re: Lowest mileage PH1?
Plus – and the most important thing – it’s been a great hobby. I’ve been able to do a lot of the work myself and has been a great learning-curve working on it and feeling the benefits the next time out on track. The future plans are a little way off as unfortunately a...
Re: Lowest mileage PH1?
I admit £25k is a lot to spend on 'just' a Clio, but its virtually a race car now and the idea is that should the worst ever happen I can just buy another shell or donor car and swap all the parts over. I had a motorbike faze for a couple of years but knew I was going...
Re: Lowest mileage PH1?
It was always going to be a track-car from day-1 and therefore I wanted the lowest mileage possible so hopefully it hadn’t been abused or in an accident etc, this one hadn’t a recorded cam-belt service which I think put others off but I knew that even if it had it would...
Re: Lowest mileage PH1?
I bought it August 2010 when it had around 22,500-23,000 (cant remember exactly), since then its done a few road miles to and from JMS, then TDF and now Mark Fish and a dozen or so track-days. I have copies of all the MOT’s and the servicing and they all log the odd...
Lowest mileage PH1?
I’m soon about to click over to 24,000, just wondered if there was a PH1 out there with lower mileage? (and not one that’s gone around the clock!!).
Re-read my post above. Do it properly and change the shocks at the same time for ones designed for the length of springs. You will regret it if you don’t as the car will pogo and you will have to pay for the labor again to have the shocks changed at a later date.
No, you will totally mess up the ride and it will pogo everywhere, unfortunately you'll need to replace the dampers with some to suit the new springs. If the shocks are old it’s worth replacing them at the same time as the springs anyway. If the car was practically new and you were only...
Although I love my Clio, I knew before I bought it that I was going to spend £20+ on it and turn it into a track-car, I would've thought for your budget that keeping the Cooper S would be a better long term idea as it would probably be in better condition and better built. My wife used to have...
Good news and unsurprising. I’ve bought nothing but B&W over the last 15 years or so because not only are their products brilliant but the after sales is too. Whatever you need they just send out the next day free of charge, doesn’t matter whether its drivers or just little rubber stand feet...
