Update
The quarter glass was replaced by a local company, it's genuine Renault glass, dealership says this was the last piece in the country, I'm glad it matches.
At the same time, Renault also supplied the windscreen, despite supping them with VIN etc, it was the wrong screen, the fitters...
Thanks for the offer Arch..
I am in contact with a local replacement company and hopefully they can sort it with some new Ren. glass, I expect to get the windscreen done at the same time. It'll be a big bill, but hey ho.
Cheers all that took an interest.
It has crossed my mind, but don't intend to get the car back on the road until next spring, I will do the right thing and sort this myself, I took the chance and what I saved in ins. will cover this I'm sure.
The car has been covered up a few weeks, just took cover off to charge the battery as I do every three or four weeks and found this damage:- it must of happened in the last few weeks but don't know when, it was not noticed until the car cover came off today.
It looks like side impact right at...
If they're shipped from Germany - I hope you don't get stuffed with VAT or import duties, not sure of the rules ATM. Be interested to know when you get them.
Just to get up to date on this for others who may come across this problem, no-one has any idea or cares it would seem!
NO, the passenger door key does NOT fire the central locking.
I found you can still lock the car using the dash switch, and exiting passenger side and lock with key, I was...
You wont go wrong with the Eibach Proline springs, better quality than Renault, ride will be as good or better and will settle after time and look just right, I'm glad I changed over from OEM springs which in my case kept breaking.
I paid £120 five years ago for front and back set, those came...
Yes, send it back, at that price get a genuine Bosch part LS 6046 - 0258006046
Fits both front and back, never take any notice of compatibility charts like those on ebay.
Just to add, as I couldn't edit the above.....
Have checked a couple of fuses in interior panel which relate to the C/L and they are OK.
The C/L dash button works fine, and opening interior doors cancels the C/L all as normal, and it looks like all other electrics work as normal.
Am I correct...
Hi guys
Clio 182, central locking stopped working, the car has been laid up for two years, has been charged and started regular during that period and the C/L has always worked.
Today, was polish day, but found the C/L has stopped working, It does not respond to the key fob, tried the spare...
Probably not you guys sort of thing, but my old 'Jessie'
Elan Sprint, purchased in 1973, 1 year old £1400, sold on ten years later for £2K - family forces sale; as they say.
Haven't looked in last few years but last time I checked was around £35K if you could find a genuine one, a few years...
They have cracked like that all the way around on both rear tyres, not a great deal of weight to support
By comparison, the Kumho 17" on my escort which only does about 100 miles a year so is laid up virtually all the time (shows only), and hasn't moved over the last 18 months, still look in...
Thanks for the replies guys and all understood, but my question was more specific to the Mich. PS3 as I have had this same problem on these tyres and the cracking is always in the same part of the tyre where the side wall nears the tread.
I have had lots of different sorts of tyres on cars...
Thanks for reply - I don't know if there is a date code or how to decode it, but all tyres were purchased/fitted brand new from reputable local tyre dealer (I think they came via Black Circles IIRC).
Well, got the covers off the Clio today after another winter, had a quick look around and see now that the rear pair of PS3's have cracking on the sidewalls all around the circumference.
(205/17/45 83V)
These tyres have been on the car for 6 years though, but only about 2,000 miles over that...
Not much going on last year! As above car was MOT'ed in February last and has not been used at all during 2020, covers were off a few times, just to check it over, but nothing really done.
Although I did spend some time cleaning up and painting the four engine mount bolts, more out of...
Looking to buy another TV shortly and like the idea of the sets with 'Freeview Play' built in, I have never used it myself- has anybody here?
Plus any recommendations on what's best 2020, criteria 49/50" (max size) and sub £500 + Freeview Play,
The S4's are guaranteed 4 years, if it's younger maybe worth trying a claim if you bought it originally, I had similar experience with an S4 being uncharged for a year, defo killed it, I managed to get a replacement FOC, the extra you pay for Bosch is more for the guarantee period, than for...
I think you are describing the outer seal, I looked into this a while back, the horizontal part is integral like picture.
When I enquired, it was not cheap, but sorry I can't remember how much.
When I
I bought mine online from ECP and they exchanged it no problem, as long as you got your receipt, the guy didn't even check it, but wouldn't count on that, as said just get a load test done.
I've bought several of those Bosh S4's, when one car went to the body shop with brand new S4 on board, after some months, it returned and the battery was completely buggered, probably left in a discharged state for some or all of that time (I guess).
They are guaranteed 4 years, so take to...
Since last years post, the only problem encountered last Autumn, was a small tickle from the ABS under very light braking, no ABS lights coming up, just the occasional tickle.
It turned out to be a cracked ABS ring on front drivers side, Renaut will only sell the complete driveshaft at some big...
Bump steer sounds least of your problems now!
The rear shocks can also have some effect, I am not sure why, but have seen this posted before and must admit since I fitted new rear shocks, the bump steer is minimal now compared how it was before.
Vapour blasting gives a real nice finish and fetches off all the staining without removing much metal, close up below. (not clio parts though)
As a comparison, in the second pic shows the difference between Soda and Vapour, the TB was soda blasted, soda does not leave any sort of abrasive...
