Good info, my car is an early one, 53 plate -I believe one of the first registered, so perhaps the situation changed later, the mix makes sense to me anyway.
Although some will disagree, the first owner of my car told me that the car was supplied with that 87/83 set up with the PS2's, and he always kept that set-up, as do I albeit now on PS3's.
And I do remember reading in either a review or press release that the 182 was fitted with stiffer...
For road i'd stick with Mich PS3, 87W on front and 83W in rear is what I use, handles perfect, think this was orig. manufacturer set-up (on the older PS2's)
Ah, finally got the car Taxed again 1 August, probably for a couple of months, so thought would update this thread, although nothing much ado at the moment.
Went through MOT in March without any problem despite being stood for six months, and although not been out in it yet this year, it appears...
If you or someone previous have entered the wrong code at some point, then the radio has a security feature, that will not allow code re-entry until a set period has passed, this time period starts small but increases with each bad attempt, up to a max of about 30 minutes, you need to leave the...
There are two types of stock radios, 'Tuner List' and 'Update List', most 182s have the 'Tuner List, later ones may have the Update List, they are not compatible (thus you can't swap them), what have you?
Dark blue goes well with silver as long as silver is still dominant, maybe black would work too, not many colours compliment silver unless you want something garish.
Don't know of any app. but you could try photoshop or similar.
Been pondering on whether to get a set since seeing this post, anyway ordered a set off Amazon (Prime) yesterday, price was £27 ea.
They arrived today, checked again on Amazon, and they have now put the price up to £39 ! same item, lets hope it's supply/demand glitch as that was a good price.
Get yourself a simple OBDII fault reader -they're very cheap here in EU, one with Bluetooth to connect to an app on your smart phone (e.g. free Torque lite app)
Very portable diagnostic, will read and clear most engine fault codes.
Glad to see your making progress.
Bought a new alternator last year from Renault, £189 think it may have been a remanufactured unit, but genuine OEM Valeo part.
S/H or DIY refurb if you know how are alternatives, personally I don't think either are worth the risk.
It's 110A and part nr...
I presume that it is drawing a lot of current when ignition is off?
Try disconnecting the alternator and see if still drawing same current.
The heater problem is very common, do search on here plenty of info on this, wouldn't think it is related to your main problem though.
Clicking from the starter relay sounds like battery or the battery connections, if you've tested with a spare known good battery and the same result, then check the battery cables onto the starter motor and earth, could even be the solenoid on the starter.
The action of the pumps is novel.
Both pumps are the same
The two outlets feed via a shuttle valve which operates inside the pump body, the valve switching depends on the direction of the pump motor, forward for one outlet - reverse for the other, the motor is controlled by polarity reversal...
Christ! I didn't think there were that many 'dodgers on here, I'm hitting the speed limit at 70, and been driving 50 of those.
The ONLY good thing about getting old is the cheap performance car insurance, and that definitely doesn't compensates for the down-side.
When I cured this prob. on mine, I found that the centre grommet which attaches to the outlet pipe was not as snug as it should be - perhaps enough for water to leak between it and the scuttle metal work.
I stuck some silicone under and around it, might be worth checking them all if you have to...
The PS2 & PS3 205's have always come in two different load ratings, 84V & 87V, could it be the same with the 195's? The 87V have always been a few quid more than the 84V, so perhaps a mistake on website, best ask
Most likely that it's the seal, I noticed mine is starting to bubble on the passenger side, looks unsightly.
The seals appear to be one piece and go around the whole glass and down inside the rear of the frame, not surprised it is so expensive judging by Renault parts.
I've not looked into it...
You must have got them on a Black Friday? -just checked on the website and £65 inc vat, with discount still rounds out to £45, but that's a reasonable price for the genuine part, which they will be from ECP.
Good to see your still at it...I started my project thread about the same time as you, and now it's quite a few years on!
Interesting that you had similar problems to what I have encountered during the time line.
Your car still looks great and glad to see it's being maintained as it should.
Are...
I feel for your quest, and wondering if you have done something like this before?.
However.....
If you're going DIY, then go for it, but you'll need a second car and a LOT of spare time..
If your are going proff. route with all those things, you're probably off your rocker, you'll still need a...
I would check the central scuttle drain outlet first, it can get clogged with dead leaves etc
At back of the engine -in the centre, run your hand down the sound deadening carpet until you find a small hole well down the back, pop your finger in there -there should be a rubber pipe outlet, give...
Car is now SORN.
If we get some mild weather I may do a few things as previously mentioned over the winter months, - just for something to do.
I'm sorry to say, it's not likely to be back on the road in the foreseeable future.
Ah right oh, ...don't discount the alternator as they can whine, I know it's not what you want to hear with all that expense going on. Hope you get it sorted..
If this is correct : "....Ive tried revving whilst coasting and this does not change the sound either ." = from you o/p, I can't see how it can be engine related!?
If the sound/pitch does not change with engine revs, surely it's nothing relating to the belt drive?
Re: burning smell, this could...
No one else has replied or given any advice on your post...…..
First, it really helps if you can be more specific, some things can really help encourage some worthwhile comments.
Things like "I've had everyone looking at it", but has a mechanic looked at the problem? hearing the noise is...
You may find that one or more of the white clips are broken on the underside of the plastic scuttle, it's the pressure that these create when fastened that keeps the seal snug to the screen (clips break easily).
No big deal though as the water only goes into the drains anyway.
Thanks for your interest Doc.
...for the upper manifold etc, nothing garish, present thinking is a grey and a polished 'Renault' emblem
I was thinking of an anthracite grey or similar like the standard wheels, anyway something subtle maybe even silver as you say, but not bright, I will have to...
