I'm currently using a golf kart battery in my MR2, just 6kg and only £40, its been great so far. I do however unhook it after each use of the car but its not an issue being a track car. I reckon it wouldn't take long, a week or two before it went flat when not in use.
An unanswered BMW question on CS.net...what's the world coming to!!!
XHP have got a 15% black Friday sale on currently, £227 for the license and map pack
@Waitey @NorthloopCup @Sir_Dave you guys got any experience with XHP software?
OK, so i'm a year into ownership and my renewal has come in £200 cheaper than last year so its time for some fettling.
Anyone ran this software for the F30 330D or even something using the ZF8 box? If so what are your thoughts, is it worth the £267?
Should I go for a remap instead?
@shiftspark just realised you're on 17" wheels. A good compromise between the PS4 and RS5 is Falkens FK510. They are bloody brilliant. Just fitted them to my F30 330d and also had them on my Mondeo ST.
I've mentioned it before in other threads they are very similar to PS4's in performance...
PS4's are brilliant in the wet, and dry for that matter. The only better road tyre in the wet IME is the Rainsport 5, however these are nowhere near as good in the dry but not terrible like the old Rainsport 3 which were far to soft.
Haha it was just warming its brakes and tyres when I was behind it. From 1:20 on the video it starts to push. Supposedly just 280hp. Its the 1200kg that gets me.
Just looking myself
£1500 ready to track! New AD08R's, Avensis big brake set-up, torsen LSD, stripped. Just need a decent seat(s). You'd need to check for rot though as my 02 plate was terrible at the rear, had to scrap it in the end...
Great handling coupe coupled to the awesome 2ZZ-GE engine. Being the later model (T-Sport) they aren't as prone to rust. For £5k you may even get a supercharged one running the Corolla compressor set-up.
Theres a supercharged MR2 Roadster on MR20C at the minute that has been rebuilt. They only want £3800.
Taken from the ad.
Our supercharger project car is now up for sale. I can't justify (or afford) to keep two toys taxed and insured, so it has to go.
It was bought locally with a bad engine...
Sounds like a 2 stroke go-kart. He can defo pedal though.
Starting to see more and more Mk3 Clio's out on track and they seem a like a really good track package.Defo something I'd consider if going back to FWD.
Ive heard this a lot about spring rates and slicks. I'm running pretty basic coilovers in Meister R's with what are considered very soft springs 5kg front/7kg rear and was worried about how the car would perform on track using slicks. No issues what so ever, even temps across the tyres and...
It'll will increase the ratio ever so slightly. Maybe 1-2 mph in 3rd. Might just be enough. Mine on 225/45/15 v 225/45/16 has a top speed difference of 3mph in 4th gear.
They were great in 225/40/18 on the Mondeo ST. IM guessed they're going to make the beemer feel a bit softer/worse turn in due to being non RF. I can deal with that though if comfort levels are increased. RF tyres really do ruin the ride quality of the car.
