That's what I mean, even the boundaries of something cheap in the DSLR world (although to be fair that Sigma does review very well and punch above its weight) will be hard to reach, as long as it's reasonably good it's going to work brilliantly with a bit of practice. At the same time I could...
I shot New York purely with a Sigma 10-20 and 50mm 1.8, that was more than enough to be honest. There are a million photos you could take there so you've got to limit yourself in some way.
IS is useful but if you are using the long lens exclusively for motorsport it's going to be a wasted...
You make me look bad mate, I'm 16 miles down the road and cried this one off! Looking at the pics that's possibly the smallest Combe crowd for many years.
Super pics, all the more so considering the rain (and in particular the wind), the Tony Hutchings TT shot is the pick for me, that Westway...
Found them on Flickr I think. Also got another email today from a holiday guide book after some pics (also via Flickr)
Been quite successful through Flickr actually, so it's a good place to put them if you want to be found!
The company that looks after the Lotus 98T have been in contact about my pics :)
Always brings a smile to my face when they like them. Will post a link if/when they appear on their site.
The 50mm is as sharp as you will get at anything like £100 or thereabouts.
You can use it for everything, macro, portraits, cars, landscapes, whatever.
Check some samples out...

In a stroke of genius Combe solved the Simon Norris problem today.
The solution...?
RAIN!
Qualified 23rd (17 places behind any of his class rivals) behind 106 Rallyes and 205s etc and then finished the race in 17th 5 seconds behind Will de Claudio in the 106 XSi who started behind him.
What do you want it for? Telephoto for sports etc or something much sharper than the kit lens in the standard zoom range? The obvious first purchase would be a 50mm 1.8, very cheap and very high quality.
Loads and loads of second hand stuff here and they are very reliable with regards to...
Yep I can safely say I or the car would not have survived if my Cup was my first car, as it was I had two 1.2s before that and learned to drive them fairly quickly first.
I know people say that all cars used to be without ABS / ESP etc, but there is still something about it. It will bite your...
That's the works one, which I'm fairly sure has been reshelled at some point (or at least resprayed) as it was green last year.
Either way it gets worked very hard and the miles are being piled on it, I wouldn't be surprised if they used a non-perfect reject on it if needs be.
No I don't think so, would be nice to start getting press passes but I don't want to take the fun out of my hobby. Pictures I take (particuarly for motorsport) aren't the sort that newspapers/magazine buy anyway, they tend to want straight record shots and there are plenty of people with £3000+...
Just the angle of the picture I think. It was lower than it looked in that picture. Saying that though the rear one had it's spoiler up, the front one didn't, not sure if that changes ride height as well, I'm guessing it might.
The one at the front of the pic was owned by a guy who couldn't...
I've started a seperate thread on the Veyron over in General Media, so will just add one to this set ;)

Sweet pics, I never spotted the Spyker.
When I went back to my car I had a Rolls Royce Phantom drop-top with brushed bonnet parked next to me, bloody thing was about twice the height of my car!
Are you the guy with the uber-heavy Macro lens?
Impressive skills there, loving the close-up shots of the static cars, Bugatti caliper is my favourite.
I know we were moaning about how slow he was, but did you see his times?! Did a 51 second run in the afternoon, not bad for a car that binning into a tyre wall is simply not ever an option.
Arrived in Prescott nice and early this morning and as I was pretty much the first person to arrive I found a lonely Bugatti Veyron (the works one) sat under it's gazeebo. Sadly I only had a 50mm lens with me so options were a bit limited.
A few pics...
Then it went out...
