Here goes again. Vote will be open until Saturday evening so then we can get a comp running from Sunday over to the following Bank Holiday weekend.
On a personal note I'm amazed at what a bunch of Clio enthusiasts can come up with in a week, amazing images!
Please select the number of the...
Photobox probably offer the best quality / price trade-off. Cheap prints at somewhere like Tesco sound good buy when you compare them with Photobox the difference is shocking, we got an identical set done at both and I actually felt sorry for people who don't know any different, it was literally...
Yep he was there, he got the Yellow warning sticker on his car. I said to somebody that there was a Valver on track but was informed it was a Williams, it didn't exactly stand out as a Williams, condition wise.

See a Nimbus F1 around these parts almost every day, I am sooooo in love with that colour. Looks absolutely stunning in all weathers and still looks pretty good when a bit grubby. Best all round colour imo.
Superb pics as well, loving the low angle with the cleaning products in frame.
What...
I'm at Thruxton on Saturday for BTCC Quali and Clio Cup Racing, then up at Prescott for the Veyron meet (!) the following Saturday and Sunday, then to Combe on Bank Holiday Monday.
The missus wasn't best pleased with my rather busy diary! The "well you got a free holiday out of my hobby"...
Indeedy, that's specifically why this was called Macro / Close-up, didn't want to exclude anyone, technically this could have been an entry...
As in Motorsport circles it is certainly what I would call a close-up, even if it was taken with a 200mm lens!
Can't say it ever bothered me in the Summer months to be honest, and I don't have AC in my new car and have been fine for the past week.
The other half has had air-con in every car she has owned (8 years worth) and has never once switched it on in any of them despite a lengthy commute everyday.
Good efforts, if the cars aren't moving exactly parallel to you it does tend to happen that some of it is out of focus, particuarly at very slow shutter speeds. If you manage to get the sharpness at the right place they can look pretty good in my opinion and certainly show a sense of speed...
I imagine he would have still been turning into Tower at about 100mph even if eased off the throttle in that case, which would have probably ended with an Evo on its roof somewhere in or on the tyre wall.
It's your sensor bud, you would need a rocket blower or something specialist to clean it up. Or just always shoot as wide open as you can (i.e. f4) and they will magically go away :)
Loving the car anyhows, looking forward to seeing it in the metal one day.
Grabbed a pic of one on track a few weeks back, looks a bit odd imo, actually kind of tall and narrow (which it isn't really), 182 shot for comparison below, haven't got one of a 197 from the same spot yet...
Not commenting either way (I'm not a fan of the car personally), but a few facts...
His 1:17s were in the race and he was constantly battling with Gary Prebble, his quali lap was in the 1:14s on a slightly damp circuit.
The Pug 106 Xsi of Wii Di Claudio in Class D (2wd up to 1400cc) does...
F1 is slightly different, this is club level racing. I was speaking to the Leon driver from the same series on Monday as I got some pics for him last time, and he was saying he speaks to one of the Ibiza drivers an awful lot as obviously they have very similar cars. Rich can probably comment...
This is the only pic I got of him on the day, this is just before Quarry. If I timed it better this would be a pic of him with 3 wheels fully off the ground, but I missed it so this has just the 2...
Regardless of the on-track antics, offering to go around and sort out a fellow driver who disagreed with him is hardly the attitude you need in local club racing.
As Rich was saying to me on Monday at Combe, the series is incredibly friendly for the most part, so it's a shame it's come to...
Hard to compare as they don't come to Combe, but...
He was about as quick as a new Leon Cupra Championship Car from the LMA Series, which assuming that was still in Championship spec is about a second or two slower than current BTCC cars.
So I would say he is easily as quick as a mid to...
Been looking forward to your pics from this angle, I don't think I came away with a single useable shot from that angle for that race! Sun at that time of the day really isn't good for that location. Your picture shows you had more success than me though!
Funny you should mention these things and Mark in particular. I always remember a vid of Mark (at Goodwood maybe) with an instructor in the passenger seat telling him to stick to his lines whilst he had something (probably exotic) in front of him. I imagine it's a natural reaction to follow...
650bhp or thereabouts apparently, pretty ridiculous for a racing saloon car. They really don't look comfortable on track, massive understeer around the corners, it's all about the power on the straights which thankfully for them Combe has plenty of.
Massive contrast to the Supercharged Elise...
To be fair this didn't seem to be his fault on this occasion, brake failure at 110mph is never going to be pretty, none of his options looked particuarly appealing at that point.
Another biggie, 2 cars in 3 races now. Long vid but worth watching right through, really interesting to watch, his power advantage is massive but not so good in the twisties...
