Maybe a noob camera, but in the right hands it can produce stunning shots which will rival anything.

^^ disagree, the D40 is a great and very popular SLR for that money.

Don't bother with a bridge when you can afford an SLR, it would be the worst move you could make TBH!! It will just not cut it for motorsport when it comes to moving objects and focus speeds.

FTL!!! The G1 is very good and all, but the format will improve a lot. Plus the lenses availiable are very limited. You can get a converter to use SLR lenses, but then it all looks a bit odd. D60/D40/450D/1000D etc. Go to jessops, play, decide what feels best - purchase.

Whats the camera?? If its an SLR you need to ban yourself from Auto mode and go experiment :)
