Yeah, wasnt really planned lol, one weekend i was underneath it fitting parts (steering coupler), the next i was looking at e90's 😂
Re: driving it harder, i do agree, i wanted to do a trackday in it, but i have the mini for that, which meant id have made that unnecessary lol...
Ah balls, im home in Cornwall all weekend, thats normally a really good one as well!!
Final update on this M3, as it drove off to it new owner this morning, was a great car, but the urge for something else (what i originally wanted in September) was just a little too great unfortunately. I'm...
Yeah, he's one of my best mates, so know him fairly well lol  is a shame he didnt finish it, but glad its found a new home!!
I was driving the blue cooper s, was only really out in the morning though ... ill let you know re: the fuel etc, will do some more digging...
I originally thought that the octane might simply be a lot lower than the 98/99 my car is mapped for, but it might just be old/stale/knackered etc if a load of clios have issues as well!!! I'm just aiming to use it all/drain it out, then fill back up with the usual VPower that i use, will also...
Im just pleased to see it moving again on track, some great memories with that car!!
Thanks for the info re: fuel and the problems, seems that my assumption that their fuel was sh1t was correct (mine ate a spark plug 2 laps after filling up, then another 2 laps later after id replaced it). I've...
Blooming good work putting it together so quickly as well btw!!! You only got it a couple of months ago lol.
Did you fill up with fuel at Bedford Autodrome then? Just asked if @williamsclio1 if he did. Will help me get to the bottom of my issues.
Re: your misfire, dont suppose you filled up with fuel at Bedford Autodromes pumps did you?
Think i have some footage of you on my vids btw (posted in the trackday thread).
@Mash. @masekwm
What type of issues, did you fill up at the circuit, what is "David in the Cup" username?
Nice to see Tom's 182 Shell being used properly on track btw. Shame he was too useless to do it himself 😂
Chap on here @Stopherson
I think my comment at the time was "what the f*ck is in that" lol ...
It was like the Pikes Peak Escudo on Gran Turismo with 1000bhp, you dont need to steer, just booooooooooooost.
My cars not particularly slow, but on the straight i might as well have been in reverse...
So it was the Bedford Cliosport/Passionford Bedford trackday at the weekend, so i thought id give a quick write up.
Needless to say in the morning the car was an absolute animal compared to before. The gearbox/diff have made an unbelievable difference, i now firmly believe that any high powered...
I think Richard changed it before, but ill do it again, is pretty much the only thing i havent changed on it so far lol.
Fuel wise, not sure how many other days they will have done, ive asked them to dip the tank, but i doubt they will ...
But the plugs were perfectly fine prior to the...
I cant get it mapped anywhere else lol, not buying a standalone for it!!
Its done 3 trackdays since the map was adjusted, AFR's etc are all fine, Charlie at SRR said it seemed ok etc. Surely if the map was bad, it would have sh4t itself ages ago, and not done 150 miles fine in the morning, then...
So after running perfectly for 18 months on road/track, this happened again at Bedford on Saturday:
Both times it threw a P301 on the Scanguage i.e. misifre in Cyl1.
The car is ONLY ever run on VPower (& was mapped on it), so had a full tank of VPower at Shell to begin with, i then did 150...
My stripped VTS, with saxsport, 421 manifold & simota air filter was the same speed as Nick/Ollies 172 cups up to circa 100.
Edit. Mike beat me to it. But yeah, they keep a 1*2 honest pretty easily.
The car is obviously f*cked lol.
As Mike says, Bilsteins & Faulkner springs will sort it out.
Also, pull the carpet up in the boot & look in the corners where it meets the side panel.
If no rust its a rare non-rusty version lol.
Nah, havent fitted the LED's yet, will do at some point lol, need to work out how to code them first!
Fog lights wise, last time i bought something like this...
So, big update time!
Last Tuesday I spent the day at 1320 Mini getting a few bits & bobs fitted.
Lots of mini’s, all in various states of brokenness/turbodness:
The turbo’d car that my facelift box/quaife came out of:
Apparently it was in a black turbo’d mini before that as well, so hopefully...
Yes, the fog light has been bugging me, will add that to the order for steering coupler/wishbone bushes that ive been meaning to buy since September!! Now ive finished faffing with the mini i can sort the BMW out instead ...
I got a lovely Eastern European chap to do it down at M&S, £45 for the...
Thanks!! Found it on M3cutters, was advertised on the Friday, i bought it on the Saturday
Got it cleaned yesterday, forgot how nice the colour was under all the grime ...
