I could be wrong - haven't picked up the car yet - just saw the anodised blue front coilover adjusters and assumed vmaxx.
Seems a weird collection of parts, almost like someone was starting to spend money on it, then gave up when the box started to crunch.
Unsure tbh, depends if anyone knows the car/there is any truth in the belts being done probably.
He bought it as i told him Clios were awesome & pretty much bomb proof, so i felt guilty when it broke 😂
May have just bought this off a friend.
BG182 with cup packs, seems to have ktec exhaust, pms top mounts, vmaxx front coilovers, gaz gold rears, big CLIOSPORT sticker in the rear window. 3th/4th are crunching, but "apparently" the cambelt & dephaser was done in December...
Anyone know...
Personally i always thought Fred was a miserable git (although that was perhaps just his dodgy brummy accent lol) whose ar5e everyone blew way too much smoke up. But alas, i digress, having been on here for years, ive seen more "traders" come & go than ive owned Cliosports. Which is probably...
Well yes, of course you can do it cheaper than £480, using OEM quality parts such as Pagid/Brembo from ECP, but for your £280, id be very surprised if you had 3 month old Nitrac discs (£200 a pair), or Carbotech XP8's (£228 a set)! If you have, f*cking well done sir :up:
@cs_dave sorry to see...
@Short Legs As it happens, despite being a child of the 80's and having a Guards Red 911 on my wall as a kid, I didn't actually test drive a 997! By the time we'd got to the point of affording the Porsche, we wanted a soft-top and well, the 911 cab is just horrible looking :mask:
With that in...
No real updates on this, bar the fact that i still think i'm dreaming when i look out the window & its sat there looking back at me.
Difficult to describe the feeling this car gives when you drive it really, but for someone like me, that favours precision & poise over big power & sideways...
I do like this car.
My issue is that whilst i appreciate the mods, the price is simply too high.
Base car with no xenons/nav but low miles is probably £9.5k's worth, this is £5.5k extra!
£10k but he keeps the Oz wheels & AP's and it would be a lot more interesting i think.

Oh right, yeah i dont do facebook car groups, the r****d always tends to be a bit strong in them 🙈
Will be interesting to see how you get on then, if i ever fix mine & you're down here you're more than welcome to have a drive :up:
Its entirely up to you naturally, but i think you'll be disappointed.
I've driven mine on springs on track (Llandow) & it was awful, understeer central, the ride on the road was poor and the suspension travel on Wales' bumpy roads was simply lacking. It was worse than on the OEM setup, which...
DO NOT BUY JUST SPRINGS
There is a reason everyone on Minitorque says simply buy coilovers, the standard dampers cannot cope with any type of lowering, so simply hit the bump stops all the time (think Fiat 500 Abarth). Rich fitted eibachs to mine when he first got it, swiftly switched to FK...
Yes, the spots/stripes need to come off asap, you will get MT forum abuse otherwise 😂
De-chrome can be done in a number of different ways, mine is simply super sticky black insulating tape - has been on for about 7/8 years now!
Airtec/17% are a good start, probably about 200bhp then...
@cs_dave
Hello Mini Fwend.
What is the spec of the latest purchase?
Mine was stripey blue & white many years ago:
The modding bug bites fairly hard, so expect it to look like this fairly soon 😂
PS. I hope you've joined Minitorque, not the homo bunch of mumsnet loving t0ss that is...
I dont really have much to add other than that your budget isnt enough for a good one, thats obvious from the spec/cat d's.
You need to spend £25-27k and buy from a proper Porsche specialist - there are plenty of them around...
lol, i meant spiffy as "pretty shiny things".
The standard shocks/cooksports/camber/RARB/R888's are more than adequate to carry decent speed on track, i had a similar setup on the Trophy for years, bar the front Sachs of course. In reality, setting up a set of decent coilovers properly takes...
