Yes, hopefully i can get cracking on it properly this weekend!
Coolant wise, most of the above is coming from 1320 Mini, so its this stuff: http://www.1320.co.uk/bmw-oem-anti-freeze-coolant think Rich did the rad on mine just before i bought it, fairly common issue them failing - assume yours is...

I just dont understand wind deflectors at all, surely on the motorway, you use aircon, & at lower speeds, you want the wind to buffet you a bit. Unless they are purely designed so that you can flick fag ash out the window a little easier?
So thanks to @Matt Cup, this arrived this morning. Makes my OCD feel a lot better 😂

Simple things, but they all add up!!
Yes, they are very heavy feeling, more like an older BMW than a french hot hatch! I dont have a problem with that though really, although as a standard to standard comparison, the Mini is a far better daily, with the Clio being the most instantly fun out of the box. A track day in a standard R53...
@bill If you look at @kayzee rear bumper splitter, you will notice that yours is far deeper!
If you dont want it, i will happily give you £50 & a packet of crisps
Yes, i did realise that after using it for most of the day on Saturday, although, admittedly, the battery was disconnected at that point
Just need to put the refurbed head back on, give it an oil change, fill it with coolant & start driving it around to check that all is good with it...
Can you retrofit cruise control to the ST2's? (i know its only the ST3's, but they are more £££'s).
As daft as it sounds, part of the reason i havent looked at them is because of that!
Now they are down to £8k or so, they become rather tempting ...
So this weekend i finally found the time to have a tinker with the Clio

Mainly to sort out this mess 😂

It would seem that whoever fitted the aux belt routed the belt completely wrong!! The squiggly line shows...
In effect, the map was slightly off the first time as the s/c belt that Lohen had fitted was wrong prior to its initial map back in 2010, so when i fitted the proper belt & went on track, the boost was too high & the fueling not enough (poor explanation, but there or there abouts). This was then...
Well photobucket has killed all my old photos, so here is the link to them if anyone is at all interested:

This weekend Sarah's dad came over & we took the head off the Mini, in the pi55ing rain. Rather surprisingly, the pistons...
Sounds like a good buy!
Couple of things for you to consider:
1. Scanguage will give you a speedo reading (if you dont have one), ive got mine on top of the dash in the far right corner
2. Without a cam, you wont have 221bhp, more like 200.
3. Meister R's are epic for the money that they cost
In effect, i'm buying a refurbed box from Northloopcup, but the option is there to have the Quaife fitted whilst its being done ...
Now, assuming the R53 is dead and being broken up (ill know after the weekend), this will be sued on track instead, so i'm partly tempted as it made a massive...
Those tyres are perfectly fine, id expect to see far more rubber pickup after a decent trackday. The ad08r wears very well on track imho, its certainly harder than say an r888, whilst giving far better wear/grip than a road tyre like a michelin pss.
Yeah, its not quite dead yet, wont know for sure until the cylinder head is removed on Saturday, although no compression is never a good sign 😂
Such awesome VFM and great fun to drive, so difficult to ignore!
Everything is soo much cheaper/easier to do than Mini's, well except...
So the Mini is mostly dead: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/another-mcs-the-track-day-toy.755737/page-8
I'll be pulling the head off it this weekend, hopefully to find some minor issue that can fixed by simply putting on a new head, BUT if its piston/bottom end related, it'll be getting broken...
