@nutnutwelshman very good to know - I saw your pics at Spa, looked great!
Funny isnt it, when new at £20k, they weren't really a consideration as a nearly new mk7 gti was similar price, now they have hemorrhaged money through epic Renault depreciation, they are considerably more interesting...
Just for you @MarkCup
Being brutally honest, once you've finished messing about with it, id love to come out with you & see what its capable of performance wise compared to the Mini!!
Why on earth would you want TC/Stability control on on a 200bhp FWD hatchback lol.
On track you want to be 100% in control of the car surely, so that the car doesnt do anything daft like cut power half way through Paddock Hill Bend?!
How adjustable was the car on the limit, assuming as it was...
Think thats what i had in mine, that was then yours, that was then @mr bognor 's?
OP, have a read of this: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/sir_dave-project-track-shed.452785/
Car looks mint btw, saxo's make excellent track cars!!
I assume you are only only to play cars at your place if you have a silver vehicle 😂
Got to fit new discs/pads/brake lines to mine before Bedford. Arrrgggghhhhh.
No point buying one without the options. You might as well save £16k and buy an R26 lol.
For me, it woulld have to be an R26R exclusive colour, with all the special bits.
Actually, that photo reminded me how f*cking ugly they are from the back/side.
Buy a GP2 😂
Checked the tyres yesterday & they were inflated to 38pi 😂 f*cking numpties at ATS.
Also fitted my GP2 diffuser, bit fiddly, but easy enough. Looks much better now i think!
Car is looking transformed!!
Just a quick Q though - car was clearly owned by a smoker before, hence all the damage.
Removing burns is relatively easy, but how do you get the stench of cigarette smoke out of the car?
Thanks, they ride very very high as standard, thats most of the issue!! Mine would look better another 10mm lower i think, but the Ohlins just dont have that level of adjustment. Wouldnt be any good for the roads/speedhumps around here either though 😂
Yes, the later N18 has less of a...
Yes @Daz_RT_04, lots of research, especially now its been de-coked/valve stems seals done, want to keep it in as best a condition as possible!
I was emailing Sakou Michi, but it was going to cost £285 delivered, before any import tax, which seemed a lot for an oil catch can & some hose. With...
Ha ha, we're both head over heels with it!!
Re: timescales, Sarah has said we are never selling - i've said we'll keep it until we need a family house (probably 18 months to 2 years).
I was informed (jokingly?) "you need to work harder so we don't need to sell it" 😂
Lots of things really, mostly related to timing chain (rattles), fuel pump (taking a while to start), & coking (low power/misfire/hesitancy). Mine has also suffered from the valve stems failing due to oil overfill. With more power, say 260-275bhp, i.e. a stage 2 remap, the pistons don't tend to...
So Christmas meant taking the Porsche home to my parents in the deepest, darkest, depths of Cornwall.
As expected, a rather lovely drive home, the car really does cruise down the motorway nicely, cabrios have certainly come long way in terms of refinement since the Z3M!! The in-car technology is...
Ah, saw you post about this on cutters, tanzanite with silverstone iirc?
Be interesting to see how you view it long-term compared to the e92!!
Needs moar doors however.
Ha ha. Luckily for me, i also have a Mini with a clutch made out of "god knows what, but its blooming heavy" stuff, so i'm surviving ok.
I guess whats even more worrying in modern times ... ignoring the 3 pedals ... there's no parking sensors OMG HOW DO YOU PARK?!
No real updates, but we've now owned this for 2 months/600 miles, mostly just pootling around surrey with the roof down and a couple of motorway drives down to Basingstoke/Oxford. Will hopefully get to stretch its legs a little on the way home to Penzance on Saturday
Sarah has now driven...
How are you finding the AD08R's @MarkCup ? I need new boots for the Mini but use it as a daily (like you), so dont want to lose the cold/wet weather grip of the Conti Sport Contact 5's. I assume they are very good on track, but its more the day to day stuff im interested in.
