Trust me mate the 180 compound are shocking in the wet. Not in my experience they dont wear more as they're a similar compound as performance road tyres.
AD08R's are better than the NS2R's in the wet but nowhere near as good as a performance road tyres. It's all trade offs mate.
Depends if you need decent wet performance? If not a road/track tyre would be best as a pure road tyre will just go off after a few laps. Also 205 could be cheaper as well.
Options:
Michelin PS3
Goodyear F1
Nankang NS2R
Federal RSR
Yoko AD08R
Stiffened up the dampers throughout the day. Fastest lap on the NS2R's was 12 clicks from soft front 8 rear. Went up progressively to 24/22 on the AR1's.
Could well be the factor but 12/8 very soft.
Side by side of speeds, you could be bang on scrubbing more speed.

Just looking through my lap timer from Blyton a few weeks ago and I've noticed I was near 2 seconds a lap quicker on the MR2's heavy OE wheels with 195/50/15 front and 225/45/16 rear running NS2R 180's versus the 20kg less unsprung weight (total) OZ Ultraleggeras with 195/50/15 front and...
Buy one built to the spec you require for the events you plan on doing. I would never go down the route of adding modifications again as it's just to expensive and time consuming.
Few bits mate. Front carpet and sound deadening, passenger air bag. Lightweight passenger bucket seat, OE seat belts, door cards will see around 25kg.
That 15kg gain in weight will be offset against the extra rigidity of the cage on track though.
Ordered one from Megillian also based in Hull but he's f**king me about and it's been 7 weeks since I paid and he can't give me a date.
Found these guys on my doorstep so going with them as they're competitive and build some decent cages. Few for the Clio actually...
Yeah I know, just being driven on the road I dont want to compromise it to much plus the additional weight as well given the lack of power from the car. Think I'll go with a 6 point Clubman without door bars.
So after seeing the mess of the Megane that rolled on Saturday at CSF19 I'm seriously thinking about upgrading my current order from a 4 point half cage to a 6 point Clubman for the MR2.
Half cage is £500 fitted and bolt in so could be sold on.
Clubman 6 point is £750 fitted and is a weld in...
