Which model are they? I had Clubsports XL's in the Clio and they were great on long distances. The OMP ARS in the MR is much better made but due to being stiffer, narrower more upright and not having enough room to tilt it back it ruins my lower back. 2 1/2 hour drive to Blyton last month and I...
Just booked another mate on for the full weekend camping. Trying to get him to drive the MR2 to track for me as its ruins my back on long distances, need a new seat really.
If your using it for track then a suction cup mount always requires an additional tether. Which limits you to placing it below the rear view mirror.
For my old Clio j just made my own headrest mount and used the bicycle handlebar clamp that came with my SJCAM.
DIY headrest mount bits...
Do like the Astra J, would defo need a test drive if I was in the market for a fwd hatch. Think they've got a perfohub/revo knuckle alternative and mechanical diff.
Could also be a wheel bearing as well as the TRE with that much wobble.. That normally comes with a speed related droning as well though.
Changing the TRE is a piece of piss mate, just unthread the old one and thread the new and bolt it back up. No need for a garage.
You'll need alignment...
I like the look of Vauxhall's, just everyone I've driven the lack of steering feel and lightness of them just makes them numb to drive.
I had a Vectra SRI 150 and traded it after a few weeks it was that bad.
@Cup172rich I've got a Logitech G29 and pedals with Wheelstand pro deluxe V2. Its a cracking set up and I just used it with my Ikea Poang arm chair and its a perfect seating position for me.
Wheel, pedals and stand are now surplus to requirements as my PS4 is broken. All are in nearly new...
Easily tuned to 300hp and very quick in a straight line. To drive they are very poor though, let down most by the steering which has zero feedback through the wheel, just like all Vauxhalls really!
Come across many on track and on the straights they fly, but as soon as a corner comes up they...
No doubt it'll need the callipers rebuilt, especially the rears. Big Redd do kits cheap enough and are a doddle to do yourself, it really does make a world of difference to the braking power as over the years the braking efficiency really does suffer. A good way to check is take it down to your...
If its running spot on and the suspension and chassis bushes are fresh then all you need is decent tyres and front brake pads IMO. You can even run on OE brakes and road tyres but you'll need to regulate them as they fade very easily on track.
