I don’t think the person who buys that car will be worried about what time of year it is tbh.
It’ll be outside of most aspiring Clio 1*2 dreamers budgets anyway. Stick it on Collecting Cars or similar publications so you don’t have to put up with the noise, or at least limit it anyway.

I think comedy is like musical taste, in that it can change as you go through different experiences. Shifts in society can also make once-hilarious jokes lose their charm.
I can remember watching Billy Connelly on the box and I nearly died laughing. My missus bought me the DVD but I stuck it in...
@Touring_Rob Honestly it's scary how much stuff costs.
I probably didn't put my point across too well, but I was trying to give a flavour of what things cost to people in the trade. I still thought I could get a bumper painted for £30 :ROFLMAO:
A bin wagon went down the side of the missus...
£100 to get a rear 182 bumper painted and that’s zero labour and cost of materials. That’s because I work for the company.
I got a whole car painted for £1,000.
Hopefully that’ll give you an indication of the price of materials alone before you get into labour and profit margins.
After changing the pre-cat sensor, I took her for a good blast over the Yorkshire moors on Sunday, and the car feels so much better. It must have slowly been degrading as I never really noticed a reduction in performance. I've done another 300 miles since then and the cold map hesitation has...
Very kind of you to say. It's been an expensive project, to say the least, but I'm pleased with how it's turned out.
How are you getting on with your search?
Any work, provided it’s been done by a competent/reputable person/garage is a win-win on these cars now. Unless you’ve got deep pockets, the less you need to spend, the better.
The only thing I began noticing was some hesitation when it was cold. You couldn’t give it any throttle until it had properly warmed up.
I haven’t used it since fitting the new sensor but I’m out in it all day tomorrow so fingers crossed.
Ticked up just under a 1,000 miles in the last few weeks. Everything going splendid until the windscreen washers packed in and an EML light appeared on the way into work yesterday.
Ran a diagnostic and it looked like the pre-cat lambda was having a wobbler. I’d already replaced the post-cat...

Timing belt needs changing every 72,000 miles or 5 years whichever comes first, so if it’s been 5 or 6 years since it’s been done, I’d be getting it sorted straight away.
What’s the history like? When was the timing belt, dephaser changed? My oil pump went and it’s more of a knocking intermittent sound, so I wouldn’t think it’s that. Dephasers are noisy, they sound like a diesel car when they need changing. It’s good practice to do timing belt, dephaser, water...
Welcome.
With regards to the calibration of the angle sensor, I did a short piece on one of my threads regarding this. See the link - https://cliosport.net/threads/clio-182-track-car-daily-projects.830168/page-2#post-11849892 Hopefully it's not the sensor as you'll struggle to find a good...
Nail on the head.
They were designed to outperform standard cup suspension. No more. No less.
The driving dynamics of these older vehicles are distinct and reflective of their era.
So many get ruined by trying to modernise them. Just buy something more modern.
Hi and welcome Steve.
They’re usually pop rivets. So just get an oversized drill bit and whip the tops off, then a small punch to push the rivet through.
There’s also a screw at the front of the skirt, which fits to the wing, which you also need to remove, then they’ll just pull off.
To...
The company car has gone back so she’s my transport for the next 6 months.
As she won’t be covered, I ticked off a small job replacing the small seal under the spoiler.
I’ll be washing the car more regularly now and this seal stops water going up between the glass/spoiler and into the...
