Gave her a quick run out down to the Gare. Wow, the steering is perfect now.
If you go back to beginning of this thread, you’ll see me refer to the steering feeling vague and heavy compared to my old BG.
I thought it was always down to the previous owner using cheap parts and the obvious...
I’m not sure who’s to blame for breaking these, but it wasn’t me 😂 and I guess 20 year plastic does become brittle. You can see where they tried to glue them.
Anyway, £41 later I had some brand new ones.
They’re sided so just be mindful of that if your replacing them.
I also noticed...
The Clio gods were kind with the weather today, so I cracked on with the PAS pump.
I found a company who make a similar tool to the MOT 1368 Renault tool.
The company are AST Tools - Part number AST4924. You have to order it over the phone (01527 522550) and it set me back £21 plus vat. I...
Difficult to say isn’t it? There’s a hill climber on here for £2,800 and hasn’t sold. I can’t get my head around it.
On my new one, the engine build and ITBs alone would cost me more than I paid for the car. Then throw in a gripper, cage, seats, harnesses etc…
I still think they’re bargains...
I'm not really familiar with 200s, especially their values, but reading through your post I wouldn't really say it's a 'Track Specific', car.
I learned a new word last week which was 'Clubsport' which applies to cars that are lightly modified, rear seats out, half cage, bucket seats, harnesses...
Some great little upgrades. I'm handing my company car back at the end of October and going to bring the RB out of storage and daily it over winter.
I don't think having them sitting around does them any good. It's going to be a challenge keeping it clean 😟
I hope so. I used to run Spax 750mc controlled suspension on my last circuit car. They’re 740 lbs front and 450 rear. The dampers aren’t as good as AST hence the heavy springs rates in the front. I’ve asked a few racers who I know about their set ups and 80/100 seems to be the way to go. The...
I ran 70/70 on my ASTs because @Brigsy told me it would be compliant on the road. 😂
He’s young, fit and built like a brick s**t house, I’m old and portly 😂
Went up to tan hill with the missus and it was horrendous.
I’m putting the ASTs on my new circuit car and going 80 front, 100 rear.
The Eibachs still crash occasionally compared to the original springs, which I had on my Black Gold car. To be honest you only have to fit the wrong tyres and the ride goes to s**t.
I had AD08Rs fitted once and it tried to throw me off the road. The tramlining was awful. Since running PS3...
I wasn’t going to update this, but I guess it’s worth it for the thread.
I was hoping to get the PAS pump switched over after the last one failed at Croft. A friends garage did the last one, and funnily enough he didn’t want to do another one. Even work turned me down 😂, so I guess it’s down to...
The first generation weren’t good as they became brittle after a year and easily ripped in high winds. These second generation ones are really good. Had them for years. No scratches on any of my cars.
If you have the space and it’s not burning a hole in your wallet, I’d hang on to it.
Not for the “ThEse ARe GuNNeR be WuRTh a FoRtuNe” in 10 years reasons/debate, but for the memories, the nostalgia, the sheer bloody mindedness that the cars of tomorrow are going to be soulless and devoid of...
As Advikaz has said, soft lining. You might have seen the paintwork on my RB? Not a scratch. In fact inside the boot of my Clio, the one covered over, is a really expensive car cover 😂
They’re very heavy duty. I cover mine in summer as well just to keep the sun off it. The good thing about the...
Halfords all season (small) for Clios. Mine sit out all winter and summer. Stick in a few dehumidifiers off Amazon and it’ll be dry as a bone in the spring.
They have 3 straps for under the car. They can withstand some serious winds.
Yeah, you tend to see them more on proper circuit cars, because as you say, they serve a purpose.
When they arrive I'm whipping them into the body shop at work and they're going to see if they can integrate them into the bumper.
Then I'll get the whole bumper repainted, including vents, so it...
The 16" Turinis make a huge difference on the RB, especially in factory Anthracite or Silver.
It's subjective of course, but the only wheels I think look better are the original TD Pro Race 1.2s or Evo Corse X3MA 15" but you've got to lower the car to fully appreciate them. And then ruin how...
That picture is Racing Blue with a filter on it.
If the opportunity arose to change the colour on a 182, I’d go White 💯
The Black splitter, fog lamp surrounds, Silver door bullets, the red in the rear lamps, any wheel colour, all stand out against a White base. I’m sure you’re keeping it long...
It’s been a well discussed topic. Frayz had a few solutions, see thread here https://cliosport.net/threads/pms-shifter-mods-to-ease-the-rattle.838868/#post-12116815
Looks a nice car. Congratulations. Welcome to the RB club 😊
