Haha! I blame @Coops Mk1 as he inspires me to tinker!
See chaps I've heard mixed reviews on them. Some say they are great and others disagree. I've found that my AD08R's dont inspire me now there getting close to the limit. And in all honesty, I dont drive it hard enough. I'm like miss...
Thanks for the kind words mate. I always like to keep it well maintained, but have a habit of cleaning as i go along and im forever taking pictures! The job takes me 3 times as long as it should but old habits die hard i guess!
Haha, I'd love too mate. The block looks all rusty but the engine...
I dont know bud? Cant say i looked that great at mine but when my new blank arrives and i fit it, i can take pics of how mine is for reference if you like?
Yeah I may do that bud. Could always get a small deposit off people to secure places before I go ahead with the batch. I need to get more pics off others I've sold them to for me promo pics.
Yes i will if the demand is worth it. People that have bought them are all happy with them so the product speaks for itself there. But it's not cost and time effective for me to just make 1 offs here and there.
I've spoke to the sticker guy and got a quote for a batch and also for the plates. I...
I'm not just saying this because I've removed it, but I'm not a great lover of A/C.
I need to sort out my heater in the foot well actually as the star shaped motor has come off and blows out hot air. Ok in the winter/colder months but summer is a killer. But once that's fixed, it blows cold...
Thanks very much Jon. Was great to meet you after all these years! In return, i got the same love for your van :)
So weekend just gone, i managed to fit my 172 Cup A/C delete kit. I found this changeover a bit harder than what is described. Most of the pictures seem to be with the engine out...
Unsure at this moment. Maybe as I missed last years, but it's also nice to have a sunday free as its 3+hrs away and that feels a lot longer when your feeling rough from the night before in the clio on the drive home!
Some truth there. That year fucked me up!
I find the BMS is the perfect in between standard and PMS. The height and throw is bang on. The standard seems a too low now.
However, the PMS is a great bit of engineered kit. Feels good and mechanical, but probably a bit to hardcore for daily use. The 5th gear rattles are constant I believe...
Frayz, I run the BMS shifter.
I found that when I fitted my cat back in place, the selector shaft rubbed. With a bit of a tweak on the heat shield I managed to get it to clear. Its tight but does work.
I dont know if I have any pics mind as I went back to a decat after a few days. I'll see if...
I'll be honest, I didnt really notice a huge difference. It felt different as soon as i fitted it but then it just felt normal. Maybe because I'm used to it.
But for what little it cost, i would do it. I'd recommend buying the circlip too. It's in there nice and snug and if that pings out, itll...
I managed to source a 172 cup A/C delete kit. Unfortunately nobody wanted to sell the kit without the alternator, so i bought this kit, with a fairly new alternator and sent my brand new one back to RPD, with no issues.
The RB had recently hit 137k. I noticed on the day i went to the sprint...
Thanks bud. Ive always maintained that this isn't a minter. The problem is people see pics of cars and think its immaculate but in person, there is imperfection, issues, etc. I like to keep my cars clean and well maintained, but it has swirls, chips, knocks, whines, etc. With this said, it is...
Bumping up a old post/thread but I just want to add that the last post/post above is the perfect way to get the alternator out on a 172/182 with air con.
I did it recently and this worked well. I did remove the engine bolts and jack up the engine/sump to get more access, but upon refitting, I...
