I love the people comparing the "I can get a 197 for this" against the actual list price for the Cup.
Do you think that bit of the brain ever kicks in where they think, 'hang on a minute, if I can get a discount on a 197, maybe I will be able to on a 197 after a little while'.
Cheers guys, Rich - I don't think the resolution of my D50 even reaches those sizes!
Found some stats on the web from April 2007 so going to stick to these I think (but not bother with 800x600), 1280x800 is looking rather nice for some of the pics, be needing me a monitor with that aspect...
What are the popular desktop res sizes these days? I've been making a few wallpapers up and I've no idea what is what these days, I use 1280x1024 which I assume is from the Babbage days compared to most of you, is widescreen the norm?
Plenty of room for improvement now I look back at them, not happy with the backgrounds so I'm going to take my Korean monster out for a practice and find some better locations suitable for an Ultra Red 197.
Love doing them though, if anyone is ever passing through Wiltshire on a Sunday and...
A few from my old car, they were really cheap when I bought mine (under £100 delivered iirc, was early 2005 though) which was the only reason I went for it over the Renault effort. Looked nice in the sun though and felt pretty solid, never picked up any major marks or anything...
You get the sense reading his write ups that he is always a bit borderline finacially though, he has to make them work for a living at those 'dream supercar days', clearly has silly money to spend but he doesn't seem to be super-rich.
Harry Metcalfe however, £24,000 to upgrade his Zonda...
Cheers for the info, been looking around but couldn't find much info apart from a few shots on flickr.
Put the other ones up in General Media: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=264105, Reyland Escort shot is probably my favourite of the year.
Depends on people's ability/experience I guess, there are many pictures I've taken that I would have loved and been proud of a year ago that I wouldn't look twice at now.

Looks dodgy as hell but I assume it must be legal, 336.6% APR?!
As you've already said, no doubting a proper HPI check done by the potential owner is worth its money in gold (they usually come with hefty insurance), I'm surprised this never flagged...
Oddly enough I past this on the road about 10 minutes ago...one of the best things about this being local is that all these cars are on the road around this area between Friday and Sunday (they stay in a lot of local hotels), yesterday I had Escort RS Cosworths in front and behind me.
If you watch the vid on this page: http://rallycrossuk.com/index.php you will see why they have shells that they can drop over them whenever they like, madness :)
Here's another, yours for £17,500...
Not exactly sure how these things work, but I assume it's a fibreglass shell on a space-frame chassis or something...? Not really sure but the Clio V6 is very popular in Rallycross so there must be a reason behind it.
Anyhow, looks like a Clio and all the kids were saying "look at the Clio...
In amongst all the legendary Group B beasts and modern WRC stuff was this insane Clio at Rallyday yesterday, properly quick - and not just Clio-quick, but one of the fastest cars of the day full-stop quick...
Loads more here and I will put a few favourites in General Media...
Top stuff, I've got 1200 pics to sort through now, never taken so many at one event! Loved the Yellow Clio V6 Rally, was spitting some seriously large flames.
What exactly were you expecting? The Cup is about back-to-basics, and as far as I can tell at this stage that's pretty much what they are doing. We're never going to get a 172 Cup again, things have changed a lot in the short time since that showed up, the 182 Cup should have given you enough...
Not many other manufacturers are stripping their hot hatches and selling them cheaper, Renault should be applauded for continuing with the Cup project.
At the end of the day if people want a 197 as cheap as possible (and I'm sure many do) then this is the one to go for. If I had the money I...
I noticed an article tucked away in the latest Evo regarding Renault's latest attempt at Four Wheel Steering ('4WS') which they've branded 'Active Drive'. The Evo team understandably seemed a little sceptical at first, but after trying it out on the latest Laguna they said...
'one the most...
