The misses wants a netbook, it will just be mainly for surfing the net. We had a play with the Samsung NC10 and although nice, the build quality was a bit average and just didn't like the overall feel.
Looking at the following: Mini 9, Acer Aspire one and MSI Wind.
Not sure about the wind...
After a fairly compact laptop for under £400, looked at a netbook but they are a little too small (Samsung NC10 to be precise!)
The Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop comes in just under £400.
What would anyone else recommend? Cheers!!
I have CS3 full package and its opened RAW files from my Nikon D40/D60 and my bosses 300D and 5D with no plug in.

Sturdy enough for my needs and easy to use too, also has retractable spike feet for outdoor use.
Is your aerial secure? It may need moving to face a different direction? People have had problems with aerials that are in the loft area as the roof linig stops a lot of sigal getting through.
We had that problem, we could pick 1-4 up on normal, but not on digital. Our problem is that we are one of the last places that is being converted to digital so although we could pick up some channels, the signal strength was not strong enough for others.
We now have sky so its not an issue...
I tested both and preferred the Nikon, but thats just my taste! The Siggy was nice, but like the build of the Nikon more, plus at nearly half the weight its an ideal go anywhere lens!
Looked at picture quality and overall the Nikon matches the Siggy IMO.

Next on my list I think, having just spent the best part of £550 on a prime and walk around lens, the Siggy is far more appealing than the Nikon 70-300!!!!
If you cant get hold of a tripod you will probably have to run at a high ISO to get any usable shots.
If you can get hold of one, then you can experiment with some longer shutter speeds which will give you great results.
If you think your going to start doing a lot of lower light shooting I...
I have used the 55-250is when I had a 450d and a lot of people rave about it - I for one do not! Its ok, but the build is average and the rotating front end is annoying!!
How about the siggy 70-300 APO, thats a cracking price!
5310 is great, very light and slim - has a proper headphone jack IIRC too! Plus you can get it trimmed in girly pink too!!

£66.87 on o2 - not bad at all!!
