Right, might as well start.... this is one of my most viewed and commented pics on flickr so this is:

lol
I got it for £280 delivered - mainly due to the numpty who sold it listing it slightly wrong!
Its selling new for £400 which seems damn steep for a standard speed lens, but I am pleased with it comparing with the price I paid.
It has 2 ED glass elements, metal mount and goes wide enough for...
I have been using Matrix, but beginning to think that centre weighted or spot is giving better results?
Whats everyone opinion on the best metering to use?
I wanted a decent good quality walk around lens and previously had the 18-200. This was a very versatile lens, but had a few down points.
I then managed to pick up this 16-85 fairly cheap and first impressions are very good.
Its fairly light, the zoom is nice and tight and it has full time...
Few comments from D40/D60 group on flickr:
This isn't a camera for people who want a better D3, because that's not really what it's about. It's a camera for people who are on the fence between a D3 and a medium format digital camera (in which case, this price is quite reasonable), or who were...
My choice would be the Nikon, and before it gets mentioned... yes it needs AF-S or HSM lenses but you are not limited on this as there are loads too choose from.
The Nikon range also has a great reputation!!
I would also go try them both TBH - some feel happier with the feel of the Canon...
Yes it will work, but that lens is pretty poor and I would highly recommend the 55-200 VR version instead.
Its around £20 more but more than worth it. Its better built, better optics and has VR. I have used both and the difference is well justified in the price...
Not a clio, but you lot may be able to shed some light on my shed lol!
I had my front discs and pads changed in August and have had no problems with brake judder at all, run them in and all has been fine.
So a couple of days a go I decided that the hand brake needed tightening as it was...
My reach is now maxed at 85mm so looking for a 2nd lens to compliment this.
The 70-300 VR is not fast, but has VR and 300mm.
Any other recommendations for around this price? (must AF!!)
Sb-400, 600 & 800 are all good choices.... depending on your needs!
A lot of people may opt for a 600 or 800 and a 400 for times when wanting to go light.
How often will you be using it and what for?
