I can get hold of a nearly new set of B8 dampers from a MK6 GTI which fit the Skoda and couple them to my Eibach pro springs making a B12 kit if i'm not mistaken? Anyone used this kit from Bilstein? Bit of reading says they are firm but with comfortable damping. My 115k OE shocks are in...
You can pick up a Mazda 6 MPS FOR £2-2.5K these days...260hp/260 ft-lb and AWD, also bose sound system, xenons etc. Owned one for 2 winters and it was great and never missed a beat.
No real problem using a 182 in the winter months as long as its got decent tyres. And for £2k you should get a decent example with belts recently done. Bit of an odd winter car choice IMO, especially with an S2K in the garage. I'd be looking at something AWD and comfortable with a bit of poke...
Just go with Pagid OE from Euro. Never had any issues with them on road or track for that matter and they are cheap. I've had 2 sets of Brembo HC discs warp now and the OE pads are pretty poor albeit last ages on the road.
It's crazy that the UK doesn't have an expiry law regarding tyres. Think of a spare wheel on an older car that's never been used. That tyre can look in A1 condition but the construction of the tyre will have degraded over the years which could lead to failure once under load.
Yeah they'll be old those mate. Sure the trofeo r was there replacement which have been out a good few years now.
Got a link to the AR1's as these will be fairly new?
Got a set of DS2500's in there now, but they wont be up to Oulton. Yeah the one that has badly crumbled will only get worse and ruin my discs in the process no doubt.
Has it been raining a lot and or the car stood for days at a time? As this can happen with a build up of surface rust. If not then you can check if a brake is binding by heat within the disc and calliper. There will be a noticeable difference in temp with a binding brake component. You can also...
Still nothing back from Kam racing's distributor on these, just been told from Kam that they are under staffed and cant tell me when they will be able to get anything back from them. I even said I will go direct to their distributor if it would speed things up but that offer was declined. Got...
OE parts tend to come from whoever put in lowest bid at the time of tender. The original supplier to Renault may not even make them anymore.
Lemforder will be fine.
Mine used to play up when cold for the first 500m or so, reduced power then it would go back to normal. The issue was the pre cat lambda sensor.
You can switch the pre and post to see if it is this at no cost.
Also had vacume leaks which caused irratic idling were it would just rev up to 3-4k...
