There’s an 06 in Petrol blue, I’ve seen an 06 in LY too.
I wouldn’t say that ‘rare’ to be honest. They were still making the campus and campus sport until late 07 / early 08.
try here mate; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114399132123
(What do you call the black plastic trims that run horizontally along the bottom of the inside front windows? Every garage I’ve worked at call them window scrapers??)
*but I am Bristolian....
*Elliot
But everything else is correct. 😂
we came in and he said “I literally gave that everything. I couldn’t go any faster trying to keep up”
I’ve a feeling he won’t be doing track days much longer. He seems to have lost the love for it.
1*2’s are great out of the box but you need to remember, they’re 15+ years old now and most will need a complete suspension refresh.
whatever you buy, buy it based on the condition and the service history. I’d much rather a 150,000 mile well maintained car than a 50k car that’s just had an oil...
Here is a brief video of the day - my mate in the MX5 mounted the camera in a different place as it’s more secure but sadly it pics up a load of wind noise, so that will be sorted for next time.
I’ve just ordered a new mount too so I’ll have some footage next time too.
Hopefully this video shows...
Sadly I have none. The go pro mount in my car got damaged last week and I’ve not got round to replacing it. And my mate in the MX5 had his mounted up high to try and get some good footage but the wind noise on the videos is horrendous. 🤦♂️😂
Just got back. Had an earthing issue but a bit of fiddling and it was cured by about 10am.
Ran faultless all day and the tyres.... oh my god the tyres! What a difference!!
Halfway through my second track day on DS1.11’s and not a single issue so far. My last day was pre-lockdown.
no bedding in just fitted them and did 3 semi warm laps, in to check pressures and back out full bore.
no brake judder, no squealing, just a proper confidence inspiring pedal.
Agree, 100%.
The issue is though, this car hasn’t moved for 12 years. Whilst it works perfectly *touch wood* I want to change and upgrade stuff and making repeated trips is too time consuming.
They did my VXR (and did a great job!) but it’s half a day off work absolute minimum by the time I get all the way over there, have it done, then come back again.
Just wish there was someone a lot closer.
So...
New wheels, new tyres, new seats, an oil and filter change, gearbox oil change (this gear oil was only 2 days old but as the car had been sat for 10 years I thought it best to do another change to make sure all the old s**t is out) new CV boots and a bit of ‘that’ll do’ on the wheel...
if it’s mainly a road car with the occasional track day, I’d recommend Bilstein B14’s.
hands down the best road based Coilovers I’ve ever driven on. A bit too soft for track though but if it’s not an out and out track car, that won’t matter.
Love your work Dawn!!
I wanted to comment on FB but ban...
I also love that you took the time to clean out the window scrapers. Nobody bothers and it drives me mad!
