Done a good job making it. I bought it 2nd hand off somebody on the clio sport owners group on facebook, mrs give the green light so was not turning it down
Cheers all, cant wait to get it up and running. Weather is killing the progress at the moment, as working outside as the garage is full of cars:LOL:
Ive not measured the wheelbase but by going with online figures its 2312mm, compared to clio 2 @2471mm and clio 3 @ 2472mm, so a bit shorter...
Updates
Stuck a valeo clutch in the blue dci from the local motorfactors. Drives great, the used gearbox is spot on and changes gears good. Have done a couple of thousand miles in it since, no issues.
Orange dci needed a few small jobs doing for mot back in December. Steering rack boot was...
Ive not seen any decent bluetooth diagnostic setups that run on your phone that can read abs.
Renault Clip on an old win7 laptop is best, it will show what faults are stored.
Small update
Lux suede geargaitor fitted and interior pretty complete
Cleaned most of the shite out of the back, its comedy how small the load area is. Get the same amount of gear in the back of a clio2 with no seats in. Fuel tank shows how short it is
Quick clean up. Just sat on ph1 225...
Sounds normal, you can usually upshift ok without the clutch, and downshift with a bit of rev matching when the transmission is loaded. I learnt this from experience of gt turbo aftermarket clutch cables snapping every 2 mins, and ramming old knackered fleet vans into gear
I would just...
Hot side boost hose done.
Chopped about the other forge megane hardpipe kit to fit better. Home made swage tool in use again
Next job was to trim the lower bumper panel to fit again. Had to keep it as it joins the arch liners, without it they would flap all over. Not much left but serves a...
With all the engine sensors finally connected stuck battery on to see if most of the faults/spanner light/check injection would go off.
Was not holding my breath but cracked the ign on and no warning lights for now.
Scanned with clip and nothing really showing. Fuel sender/pump not connected so...
Updates
Dose of covid put me on my arse for a couple of weeks so did not make the planned fire up before new year. Have been chipping away though.
Jacked up and tank off as no access hole in floor to get to sender, easy job did not need to drop beam and no exhaust fitted. No fuel pump wiring...
Id say thats immobiliser related, uch is not seeing the original engine ecu immobiliser and is in a protected state, starting is not allowed so only does a short crank.
Not sure on the solution, could rewire the exciter wire for the starter to the ignition barrel, like older cars were wired, or...
Halfords advanced low profile jack is alright and not too expensive. Preferred it over the sgs as it has a quick lift pedal.
Tbh most of the 2-3ton low profile jacks are very similar, anything with a large 100mm plate will be ok. Avoid any 50mm plate hobby style jack, awful to use.
I can remember my mate buying loads of sets years ago for his old saxo vts from JR. They were classed as disposable after a few miles, cheap for a reason.
Under normal use, genuine ren shafts usually last half the mileage of the car in comparison.
Buy cheap, buy twice. Its the same for a lot of aftermarket car parts these days, they will pull you out the s**t but dont expect massive mileage.
I used to use recon driveshafts in my R5gtt years ago, they were the same hit and miss quality, i cant recall the make but i thin’ it could have...
Win7 32bit, works best on that, had this version of clip installed for years

BH snowfoam is mega, ive used it for ages. Let it dwell a bit them blast off and it comes up great.
Miles better than most of the shite that foams up like shaving foam and does nothing.
Manifold pressure says 580mbar at 1200rpm cold idle. Id check it when hot but should be around 400mbar.
Its only started since the belt has been changed, stop messing about and get the timing checked.
Did you check the map values on clip live data?
You will be wasting your money firing the parts cannon at it, hoping its going to sort it out imo. Get it to somebody who knows these well to have a look.
Tdc wiring plug is possibly damaged from removing it. Check for rpm on live data when cranking the engine on the starter, if no rpm showing renew the sensor and the plug for the later one.
Does sound like immobiliser issues if the red immob light is not going off when ignition is turned on. Have you disturbed anything in the fusebox under the bonnet?
Yep just ignore any dtc’s that dont trigger the eml/not related to the engine ecu. My old Kangoo had quite a few stored related to other stuff that was not fitted.
