The blue bung is just blocking the carbon canister pipework which does not usually cause an issue, assuming its clipped on/not leaking.
Check the exhaust is not blowing
By the sounds of it, its only a quick hone, rings, bearings and ancillaries. No new oil pump and all the sealant on the rocker cover.
Id rather do the belts on a good running engine than sticking in something that might have just had a quick flash over.
Roses tins. I also have a drawer in the garage with an old kitchen cutlery divider fitted which is brimmed with allsorts of fasteners, it weighs a ton im expecting the drawer to break one day and make a right fu king mess.
Cheers all. Cant wait to get them on and set up.
@Waitey the rears are custom to fit my Kangoo. Cooksport had the rear shocks off to measure it all up, discussed a few options and it was agreed best option was to do away with the inboard springs for the full coilover, to save the hassle of...
Great updates. I wouldnt worry about the oil consumption too much, they all use a bit when the mileage is getting up there. Quick ring job will sort that if itstarts getting a bit smokey from cold.
As for oil filters, i use purflux 932 which is as good as oem, same manufacturer. Gsf sell them...
Ps3's are quite soft sidewall but does not usually cause a big issue handling wise.
Ad08r old compound used to be a nice compromise of stiffer sidewall and good grip but i believe the new ones are not as good.
Ive had similar issues on my old Kangoo and my current dci when the bumpstop fell...
Long time no update
All has been well with the Kangoo.
Just before xmas i took it to Cooksport for a rolling road day/catch up with a few good friends. It was a long journey approx 600 mile round trip but no issues at all.
Had a run on the rollers whilst there
The main reason for the...
Should settle in nicely. I had 225 ph1 wheels on mine ages ago looked OK but not amazing. I always fancied trying 17" clio cup racer speedlines on mine, i think the laguna has a similar design wheel.
Yep sounds like its chucked a leg out, quite a few have blown up now as mileage and age is not on their side.
Might be able to salvage the head and a few bits if your lucky. Block is easy to get as can use a 225/r26 one, stick a set of forged pistons and rods in and should have a nice solid engine.
As above get the necessary airbags coded out with clip its the better option.
Assuming your worried about mot/stock steering wheel? Just refit and dont connect the airbag wiring up, tester wont know as airbag light will work as normal.
Bead roller looks good. On alloy pipes the molegrips with welded exhaust clamp/penny washer works well for a cheapy. Ive had 28psi through my hoses and nothing popping off.
1/2 router is king from experience @andy_con i used to always use trend cutters when i was on the tools. Still need to...
Probably best off getting an aftermarket set if somebody will copy them. I done a trackday in the megane and the heat/exhaust fumes marked the plate as its some kind of cheap plastic
Thats nothing on the grand scale of things. Could take the high spots off if your fussy, id prob just send it as is.
Only need to be real fussy if its going to be a mega money high rpm build.
Yep always run quality rubber on anything fast. Even run michelins on the daily, which have absolutely lasted ages compared to budgets.
Ive currently got goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 5 on my Kangoo. Crap compared to ps4, it will currently light the tyres up at 1/3 throttle in first 3 gears, was...
Ive been looking at the same stubby ratchet spanners. Ideal for occasional jobs and cheap enough. Us pro stuff is alright too, ive got a few bits and no complaints.
