Updates,
Got it all back together and back on the road. Toe was miles out with new tie rods fitted so got that set and started running in the new clutch setup. Clutch feels good not too snappy and handling feels absolutely on point with refurbished suspension and 21mm arb, its absolutely...
Updates
Parts all arrived from Kamracing, great service. So started to crack on with the work.
First job was to clean up the track control arms and pop the bushes and balljoints out. 20ton press and knotted wheel on the grinder made short work of this.
New vibratechnics rear solid bushes...
Can remember the brakes werent great when i took it out at blyton. Main issue is pads on your current setup, see if you can find something decent to fit
Cheers mate, both have been great cars. Blue one is doing 60+ miles a day no worries, its due a service very soon but apart from that nothing to report.
Hows the 172 van going? I wanted to do a dci 100 van but like rocking horse s**t finding a good 100 now.
Updates
Still no track control arm bushes. They never arrived and after excuse after excuse got my money back from the seller on ebay. Have ordered another front set of powerflex from Kamracing this time with rear vibratechnics bushes.
Clutch has almost given up and slipping all the time on...
@Daniel id get oem ones that are available and see if any of the other cosworth places have anything. Im well out of the loop with the cossies now so not sure who to recommend
Id be tempted to go to a specialist and get oem for the pas and water. Every time i use generic they seem to be slightly too small or too large, resulting in fail.
As far as i know the map Chris loads to the ecu is only a base map to get you to the dyno, i would take it steady unless you have the gear to log afr’s etc. He will sort the hesitation and start issues when its mapped.
Id be tempted to take it to an exhaust place and get it modified for more clearance if any more issues. Exhaust place remade mine on the Kangoo and no issues since.
Santa pod and back done! No issues journey was pretty uneventful apart from the drone of the side exit exhaust/ 044 fuel pump whining away and showing up a golf gti who thought he was clever putting his foot down when i went to overtake 😆
Cleaned up before
Pissed down all morning at Santa Pod...
Long time no update
Both dci's behaving as usual. Clean up as weather has been decent.
Changed dog bone mount on the blue dci as noticed it was torn when i changed the clutch. Oem this time instead of aftermarket
Fitted, 15 min job.
Been using the ac all the time in the hot weather in the blue...
Its really hard to choose a favourite out of the pair. Both are s**t on fuel, the Kangoo is quite refined with pas and electric windows and the torque absolutely nails you in the seat, fast as for what it is easy to drive, good modern brakes with abs. Its something that you can drive day to day...
Updates
Not touched the Extra since its last ride out to Croft. Give myself a goal of getting the repairs done and mot'd for Retro Show at Santa pod on 20th of this month. Only needs a driveshaft and rear shocks fitting for mot he says?!
Jacked up and new gaz rear shocks fitted as i had robbed...
Not much in the way of updates, been using it quite often and no issues. Seen off a 15 reg audi tt diesel with ease the other night the lad driving it was gobsmacked
Waiting for my powerflex front bushes to arrive so can refurb the front end.
Thinking about suspension upgrades. Not sure...
Looks class, i bet its great fun, my old Kangoo used to handle great. Pas wise, as @Daniel said above run the pas fluid on the minimum marker and your issues will be sorted.
Can report that it drives awesome on the road, I reckon this is as fast as my Extra van with around 270hp per ton. Hard to get the power down in first 2 gears but all systems go in 3rd;)
The power has highlighted the wishbone bushes have seen better days so have ordered powerflex black to fit...
Mapping day yesterday. Had prepared as best as i could and packed a few spares "just incase". Steady drive down to Efi made it there in good time.
Pre checks done, fuelled up and parked waiting to get on the rollers. Moggy arrives for a catch up in his epic nimbus r26r.
Waited for Chris to...
