    New wheels for the Trophy

Look just as good now as they did in 2011

197's/200's really that bad on fuel

Thats makes sense then, circa 66-70 on gps then, which is ok for the 197/200's relatively short gearing, explains your better than usual mpg :)

197's/200's really that bad on fuel

Just out of interest, what sort of speeds do you have to do to get 33mpg. Normal motorway speeds or slipstreaming trucks at 65?

197's/200's really that bad on fuel

No, you're missing my point, everyone assumes the GP has terrible mpg (it doesnt btw, im getting 34), but it is considerably better than the 28-29 i got from the 197. It would also rip a 197 a new ar5ehole. The difference is, whilst the R32/M3 justified their sub 30 mpg by being quick (the M3...

197's/200's really that bad on fuel

Have you owned both? Or perhaps used them for exactly the same journey day in day out? 100 miles, motorway, sat at 75-85. I have btw.

197's/200's really that bad on fuel

They arent anywhere near as quick as an R32 lol. And i got the same mpg. For reference, my GP, which has 'terrible mpg' is also doing far better than my 197 ever did ;)

Its subtle, its oem, its BG and its back on turinis.

Gorgeous, & proof if it was ever needed, that OEM+ is best.

    The Chris Harris thread

"Hi, is that Chris Harris?" "Its Renault here, we know you love FWD race cars, how would you like to drive the new Cup Racer?" "Oh, yes please, that would be ace!!" "Ok cool, you can have a play for a couple of hours at Stow" 2 months later, Chris arrives at Stow: "Hi Chris, you can only drive...

    One in One out

Was just thinking that, its a 182 so xenons/washer jets would have been standard? New bumper fitted perhaps?

    The Chris Harris thread

Agree 100%. 4 minutes of drag race, then 1 minute of where i felt Chris wasn't really being particularly honest, a bit corporate if you will, the clio is lovely, nice & soft for the road, blah blah blah. Then 3 minutes of the Cup Racer, because he ran out of nice things to say about the 200. For...

    Worked for me.

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

They all crash in the rain iirc. No abs = instant death. Which reminds me, its Cup Killing season soon.

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

Really? Decent Trophy = £4k Decent 182 = £2.5k Cost of coilovers, Recaro's & Turinis for normal 182 = £1.5k 182, plus modifications = same price as just buying a Trophy in the 1st place. Perhaps, although that one only had 160 odd bhp lol. I passed the Ph2 as well iirc, it was spinning off...

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

From memory, ive only been on track with you at Bedford, in the shed i bought off Greg lol. Anyways, we digress. The Trophy is the best one out the box. Simples. Need to get the GP on track with some clio's now ... ;)

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

You were in your TURBO'd PH1 clio when you went past me iirc, which isnt really surprising lol. I wasnt really referring to that f*cked thing anyways, more the ShedTrophy.

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

Having been on track numerous times over the years in 99% standard Trophy's, i can safely say that cammed/ITB'd/stripped 1*2's didnt tend to trouble me. Im sure Sam@BTM would say similar.

    Clio Trophy No 25

As said, Leeroybrown owned it until Feb '13.

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

I might be able to help there ;) Had a 182 with both cup packs back in 2005, then a 172 Cup in 2007, then 3 Trophy's from 2010 onwards ... Also sold a 197 Cup with Recaros as it wasnt a patch on the Trophy.

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

And certainly better than the GP on 18" runflats lol

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

Same. To get something similar, but from a different marque, ive had to spend 3 times the price!!

    My TT QS

Re: My new car. TTQS Do it yourself!! The oil is only £50 ... Haldex tool is circa £25 iirc. Dead easy to do as well.

    The Chris Harris thread

Wouldnt be any point. The only person thats actually taken delivery of a 200T is Boosh's mum iirc. Factories not tooled up to make any from my understanding, hence them trying not to sell them in the dealers.

Is Trophy really much better than 182 FF with CUP packs?

Cliotrophy is your friend here. They use a specific Eibach spring, but Sportlines work well with them as well.

    Collected the JCW GP ...

lol. Hopefully not!! Only spent a couple hundred on it so far :rasp: Really easy!! The lead i got from Newministuff (http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop.php?action=productshow&id=761) combines both Parrot wiring, SOT lead & MFSW interface into one loom, so makes for very easy fitment. Only...

Are Hankook V12's still rated? or are there more favourable options?

I like the V12's personally, buy them for all my new cars. Their cheapness allows me to replace all 4 at once as well - i hate having different tyres on each axle!

    Collected the JCW GP ...

So the last week or so, has been spent tinkering :star: 1st up, old floor mats (& their holes) were upsetting my eyes: BMminiparts had some of the genuine GP ones for just under £50 (how much? For 2 mats lol), but they have the red stitching, so i got them bought: Much better!! Then...

    Clio Trophy No 25

Its on the cliotrophy Register: http://www.cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/45076-025 Leeroybrown owned it on here, Steve at R. Sport Cars sold it to him iirc.

    Eliganza Leon Cupra R

Is that a 405 Mi16 in the top pic? LCR's are lovely btw, nearly got one back in '04 but ended up with the Z3M instead.
